I'd consider myself an expert on non-alcoholic beer, I've sampled a lot of them over the years - the early days of NA beer was pretty bad but we're now at the point where NA beer is pretty much on par with the regular full alcohol versions, full on flavour without the alcohol. Today's sampling is Corona's Sunbrew 0.0% brewed with natural flavour and Vitamin D. This is the first time I've seen a beer mention any vitamins added to the product. It's 2025 and Corona's Sunbrew is considered to be one of the most popular non-alcoholic beers in the world, so what took me so long to finally review it ..read more

Today's sampling is Quantum Hugs Cold IPA by Flying Monkeys Brewing.
From the website: The answer to the question lies within the question. Quantum Hugs COLD IPA
Embracing synopsis and creation, the Cold IPA flourishes in the interstices between lager and IPA dimensions where all possibilities exist at once. 6.1% ABV
Appearance: Golden body with a slight amount of cloudiness to it, beautiful thick snow-white head on top that gradually diminishes to leave behind a layered lacing on the glass. Good amount of carbonation in the glass.
Aroma: Citrusy, sweet, floral and leafy. Pretty dank ..read more

Today's review is for those looking to Buy Canadian. Many of you will be familiar with the Pop Shoppe Brand out of London, Ontario, the makers of Canada's premium line of soft drinks. I was a very big fan of Pop Shoppe back when they were easy to find at Zellers.. in Stubby bottles nonetheless! I still buy a bottle of Pop Shoppe once in a while but mostly when I'm at a gas station as a treat.
Pop Shoppe branched out to adult versions of their products a number of years ago with vodka-based Cream Soda and Lime Ricky, but being someone who has never enjoyed either flavours, I never bought ..read more

Well, who would have known that Monsieur BeerCrank would happen to write not one, not two, but three MANITOBAN Belgian Tripel reviews all within the same week! The more the merrier as they say.
Today's sampling is Balloon Race Tripel by Obsolete Brewing out of Dauphin, Manitoba, making this the very first Belgian Tripel ever brewed in Western-ish Manitoba - As a fellow Belgian beer geek, I'm proud to see this day finally occur.
From the can of Balloon Race: Introducing our Balloon Race Tripel - A Belgian-style beer inspired by the exhilarating hot-air balloon races at the 1900 Olympic ..read more

I made a visit to Brasserie Nonsuch's patio this past summer but unfortunately had only time for a quick sample so I had to skip the best burger in the entire city, Le Burger - It was one of the few times where they had multiple beers on tap all calling my name.. In the end, I had to try their Tripel Fruited that was just tapped that week - it made me happy for a brief moment, it was a classic Belgian Tripel but also had a fruitiness that paired well with being in the moment.
I was in Winnipeg again a couple weeks ago and stopped at the taproom to pick up a couple of bottles to review or aged ..read more

With seeing an instant fluctuation in traffic in the past few days due to the US tariffs being put in place in the near future, I want to say welcome to BeerCrank.ca. If you're new here, I write and review predominantly Canadian beer for the casual beer drinkers out there.
Today's sampling is straight out of Winnipeg - Brazen Brewing's Jol Mandarin Norse Farmstead Belgian Tripel. This beer came out back in November and the liquor commission listed it as "soon available" at my local LC any day now. Well, it's February now and it was just brought in stock a couple days ago.. and it's already on ..read more

Every once in a while I'll go to breweries in Winnipeg and splurge on bottles of barrel aged stuff and just never look at my credit card afterwards, that way I don't end getting angry over myself for spending a small fortune on beer. A couple years ago I reviewed Kilter's Immortalis Imperial Stout - it was blend 3 with Booker's Bourbon. Today's sampling is Blend #7 with Blanton's Bourbon barrles, barrels X061 + X062, barreled in February 2024 and 11.0% ABV.
Appearance: A very thick, near motor oil appearance as I pour it into the glass, very heavy and black stout. There's a moderate amount of ..read more

I have a weakness for iced tea flavoured drinks so you'll see me write about them once in a while. Twisted Tea in Canada is now pretty much a completely different brand than Twisted Tea in the United States - all the Twisted Tea offerings in Canada are vodka-based beverages while they're malt-based in the United States. Malt based-Twisted Tea does still exist in Canada but only in 355mL glass bottles but I don't know how long it will be until that one is no longer sold in Canada, the canned, vodka based version does pretty darn well.
I was at my local liquor store and noticed not one bu ..read more

Dageraad Brewing's Tous les Jours Mixed-Culture Fermented Table beer: The shimmer of sunshine, a sparkle of laughter and a day without cares. Bubbles, herbaceous hops, the mystery of brettanomyces, and a beer without consequences.
We brewed this lovely little thing for our fellow brewers, to provide a journey for the palate that won't interfere with work. If you are not a brewer, feel free to borrow their beer, but know that we brewed it for them. Tous Les Jours is refermented in the can, so pour with care to leave the yeast sediment in the can. 3.2% ABV
Appearance: (Please don't mind ..read more

I've been seeing a lot of people talking about supporting Canada more than ever in recent days, trying to buy Canadian-made products as much as possible with less reliance on the United States. One such thing is Spirits, especially Whisk(e)y. One thing about Whisky vs Whiskey - Some people don't realize that there's a difference in the spelling of the name, it pretty much goes by: countries that contain an "e" like United States, or Ireland spell it Whiskey, but in countries like Canada, Japan or Scotland, countries that don't contain an "e" spell it Whisky. So, that Crown Royal, Canadian Club ..read more
