Over the weekend I debated and was convinced that I was closing down Crochet Memories. While I don’t have many followers and even fewer who click through to read posts, I felt that impending deadlines just weren’t worth it.   Blackened Shrimp and Grits I was completely convinced when I discovered, that not only was the main site down, but the blog too. Yesterday we contacted tech support and she was able to restore both wordpress sites. The last time I talked with tech support, we were on the line for well over an hour and he didn’t know what he was doing. This is a test! Your response ..read more

It’s President’s Day! For most of us, that simply means an extra day off work! Yay! I thought it would be fun to do a bit of digging and share a few favorite foods of past presidents!   (Image) Let’s dig in (or not), some are foods we all enjoy and others may be outdated, depending on how far back we travel. It’s as American as apple pie – and burgers!  Past presidents, though, always had favorites when it comes to food.  I’ve highlighted a few below.  I did not include links to recipes like Squirrel stew – ewwww!    John Kennedy White House Fettucine John Kenned ..read more

It’s been a quiet week though February is a fun month – once the holidays and special occasions start, that is! This week has been another trial of sorts…   Dad holding a picture of himself while serving in WWII It started the week prior when Dad was admitted to the ER three times. It’s not life-threatening since it seems to be a pulled leg/groin muscle, but extremely painful. With Dad nearing 100 years old, it’s crippling. But the good news is that he’s on the mend, though it will take time. Ramsey Then Ramsey was having problems. He’s in stage 5 of 6 with a heart murmur (common for his ..read more
