Either way we’re going to win the AIL with or without you” – this was the sentence that sealed the deal for Donnacha Ryan when he was in the process of selecting a club while moving from Cork to Limerick after college in 2005. Starting rugby in Nenagh Ormond at underage level, and with a Schools Senior cup medal under his belt; Donnacha had been in talks with other clubs in the city, who had all been very complimentary and persuasive. Recently this powerful picture of senior player Ikem Ugwueru was taken. Ikem took a knee for the duration of eight minutes and bowed his head, in unity with fellow protestors, during the Black Lives Matter protest in O Connell Square, Ennis. We are delighted to announce that the portal to register for our Summer Camp 2021 is now open!! The camp will be split in two, one for our mini’s and one for our youths. With two camps happening over the summer for each group also. The Mini’s will run from July 5th – 9th and August 23rd – 27th The Youth’s will run from July 7th – 9th and August 25th -27th The camps run from 9am to 1pm each day and all participants will need to bring their own water and packed lunch for the day. Shannon RFC delighted to bring you “The No Show Charity Game” – a game that won’t take place but we would like to sell out anyway! On June 5th 2020 at 8pm we hope to break a Guiness World record by selling out Thomond Park for a fictitious game in aid of charity featuring the “Best Limerick XV” v the “Best Irish XV”.
