Bahrain Grand Prix – Max Verstappen continued where he left off last year, winning from pole with a sizeable gap to Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz.
After what seems like no time at all, F1 is back and ready to start its longest season ever with 24 races scheduled between now and December 8th.
Max Verstappen will start on pole with Charles Leclerc alongside him, as they did at the last race of 2023. All cars will be starting on soft tyres, the top nine and Daniel Ricciardo P14, all on slightly used or scrubbed sets with the others all on new rubber.

Bahrain Grand Prix – Max Verstappen took pole for the opening race of the season with a comfortable gap to the rest of the field.

As the first qualifying of the season kicked off under the lights in Bahrain, the Ferraris and Alpines took to the track as soon as the session started. Carlos Sainz opened the timesheets with a 1:31.208, Charles Leclerc slotting in half a tenth behind, all four cars on track were on medium tyres.

Bahrain Grand Prix – Carlos Sainz topped the times ahead of Fernando Alonso in the final practice before qualifying later today.
There was no rush to take to the track as the final hour of practice started, six minutes into the session Lewis Hamilton, fastest in FP2 yesterday, was the first to emerge from the garage.

Bahrain Grand Prix – Daniel Ricciardo topped the timesheets ahead of the McLarens in free practice one, the least representative session of the weekend.
The mammoth, 24 race 2024 Formula 1 Championship kicked off in Bahrain with Nico Hulkenberg leading the way out to the windy track as FP1 got underway. In his bright green Sauber, Zhou Guanyu’s season didn’t get off to a great start with the Chinese driver reporting that his brake wasn’t working on his outlap.

Pre-season testing – Here is the full classification from the third and final test day ahead of the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship.
With another drain cover issue early in the morning session, Sergio Perez being the driver to run across it, though he was lucky as the Red Bull escaped without damage. That caused a lengthy Red Flag period while repairs were carried out, and as a result the lunch break was cancelled so that testing could run for the remainder of the day.
