I've seen from numerous reports over the years that Sam Cassell has been interviewed for many head coaching positions. I think he should be looked at, not only considering his accolades as a player. But also who he has worked with in his career on numerous different coaching staffs.
He's due for another deep playoff run on the Celtics coaching staff. I also believe he would have the cachet / sway that would get players to engage with him, compared to other assistant coaches who don't have his level of experience as a player or coach. Of course I could be totally wrong, but would love to hear ..read more

Obviously Giannis has more upside, but would you risk it knowing there could be chemistry or continuity downsides?

PG - Caruso / Dinwiddie / Gabe vincent
SG - KCP / Reaves
SF - Jaden McDaniels / Taurean Prince
PF - Lebron / Wood
C - AD / Jaxon Hayes
I honestly think this lineup would be a defensive juggernaut, and that if we got JJJ instead of hood-schafino we'd have an elite bench with him reaves and prince.
Crazy to think that sometimes holding it all together, letting people get on top of their health and waiting 1-2 years to see what happens to the draft pieces than making an extravagant trade is sometimes the better move.
Based on that I really think that we currently hold everything we've got unless ..read more

All I see in this sub is people talk about how we need size to emulate the 2020 team but I think athleticism is just as if not more important for us. Not only are our role players small but they all lack athleticism. Prince, Dlo, Vincent, reaves and even Rui is so embarrassingly unathletic for someone his size. Of all these players reaves is the only one who should be on the roster as he’s a proven gamer in the clutch. Lebron and Ad are getting older and have declined athletically So it’s important we just don’t sign/ trade for slow unathletic big guys just because of their size. Players I th ..read more

I see a lot of fans buy into this false narrative that the Lakers should overpay their aging stars in order to attract future stars. You have to take a step back and realize that what happened with LeBron 6 years ago could not be replicated again today with a different All-star.
The new CBA has enabled teams with bird rights to offer their stars ALOT more guaranteed money than rival teams in FA.
Exhibit A:
There hasn't been a single All-star in their prime that willingly left their team in FA in the last 2 years. All-Stars are not turning down the money when they can simply force trades to th ..read more

A coach needs to be able to demand respect from the locker room and clearly Vogel cannot do that. When you have back to back locker room issues that’s on you as a coach. Not to mention that having zero idea how to run an NBA offense in 2024 should get you fired from any team. People that want Vogel back I have one question, would you honestly think that forcing a 40 year old lebron to ISO on the perimeter surrounded by a bunch of brick layers who can play defense, is a good idea? We need to stop pushing for mid coaches. I’d rather a rookie than someone who has shown all their flaws.
