It feels like everyone wants Malik Monk and or Claxton. Who wouldn't love either. Malik Monk is a monster off the bench. He even has some massive scoring nights, which would be amazing with Cade. My only thing is, I hope the fans that are begging for him are ready for those days where is a black hole on shot attempts. People need to understand, that the reason why Burks and Bogey were traded was because they took shot attempts / minutes away from Ivey and Cade. Monk when given the minutes, will take around 15-20 shots a game. So when he has off nights, and he does have them quite frequently ..read more

Very comparable shooting % but there are some differences between them
Their measurables are very similar with the exception of wingspan with Monk at 6’7” and Walker IV 6’10”
Biggest difference will be cost. Monk you’re paying more for current output whereas Walker IV hasn’t reached those production levels yet. Also team style accounts for more scoring in Sacramento.
Walker does a better job taking care of the ball by about 4 fewer turnovers per 40 minutes
Walker is about a year younger.
Both are UFA. I am very aware that most Pistons fans would love Monk. I feel like the value of Walker IV m ..read more

I see his name all over this sub but I just don't see our need for rim protection being THAT high (+20m/yr) when there are so many other holes on this team, and when we have a young athletic center who could still grow into a good rim protector (with better shooting touch).
People who watch more basketball than me can tell me why I am dumb, but why wouldn't we just slide Stew to backup 5 and sign Mo Bamba to round out our big rotation (he would cost something like 5mil and he has shown solid interior defense and the ability to shoot 3's). This way we can see what we have in Stew playing the s ..read more

-The Pistons trade their 2024 first-round pick (No. 1), Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren to the Brooklyn Nets for Mikal Bridges, Dorian Finney-Smith and a 2025 first-round pick (via Phoenix Suns, top-14 protected). + add Claxton in FA.
2024-25 roster
Guards: Cade Cunningham, Marcus Sasser, Quentin Grimes, Delon Wright
Wings: Mikal Bridges, Dorian Finney-Smith, Simone Fontecchio, Ausar Thompson
Bigs: Isaiah Stewart, Nic Claxton, Thomas Bryant

Something that's been a head scratcher is why Duren hasn't lived up to his predraft potential as a rim defender. Every scouting report I've looked at mentions his hops, mobility and ability to switch and protect the rim. With a 7' 5" wingspan he's hardly undersized. His first year had most people praising his future as a core piece. My question is are we're missing a nagging injury? Are we convinced that there's no hope for him to improve his defense?
