Record Store Day 2024 is this Saturday (4/20), and as usual, there are hundreds of exclusive releases that are coming out just for the occasion. Two literal and stylistically Midwest emo bands, Harrison Gordon (from Normal, IL) and TRSH (from Springfield, MO), will hit the road together this May/June. That’s a great pairing of two new-ish, rising bands, and it makes stops in Cincinnati, Nashville, Atlanta, Baltimore, Philly, NYC, and more. Tickets for most dates are on sale now. The tour hits Brooklyn’s Elsewhere Zone One on June 10, and Long Island’s MooseCreek Park also provide local support on that show. Record Store Day 2024 is Saturday (4/20), and ahead of it, this year’s ambassadors, Paramore, have shared David Byrne‘s new cover of their After Laughter track “Hard Times” on streaming services. Today is the 30th anniversary of Nas‘ Illmatic and he’s celebrating in more ways than one. He’s putting out Illmatic: Remixes & Rarities as a Record Store Day exclusive on Saturday (it’s one of the albums we highlighted in our Record Store Day guide), and he teamed up with one of Illmatic‘s most legendary producers, DJ Premier, for a collaborative album that’s set to come out later this year.
