Like most people who are starting their weight loss journey and find themselves obese, I have a very large lower stomach and abdomen or pannus, if you will. It is comprised of two rolls of fat, top and bottom that ultimately hide my bellybutton — I’m working on it! But over the past two years I’ve noticed and dreaded a third roll forming. After being on this journey since mid-february, I can finally say the other day while comparing pictures (very important!) I looked down and noticed the soon-to-be third roll was gone!!! My stomach is “flat” in that area now and I just have my two rolls. Whi ..read more

I had surgery just over a week ago. The last time I had surgery I gained a few pounds from lack of movement while I recuperated. This time around, I've been very careful about what I eat (albeit, eating when I'm hungry which is the most important thing to do right after surgery). Every day my scale has been registering slightly lower. Even with the daily fluctuations, I was at 6lbs lost this morning! I was so over the moon! And then, after dinner, I thought I'd check again out of curiosity... and the scale showed that I was lower than I was this morning. Which. What? So I stepped off and step ..read more

I been fat all my life. I thought I was comfortable enough being large. I dont know why I have never had the real drive to lose weight, I think it is because I was never really bullied for being fat at least not to my face. Though I have no problem with people calling me fat really, as it is what I am. I just never really cared enough to change it. So I never really correlated being unhappy with being uncomfortable in my own body, until recently. As I have come to notice I actually dont like being obese and I think I would be much happier healthier. As I feel like it is holding me back in a f ..read more

I(32F)am currently sitting at around 248lbs. I am getting married in a year and am trying to drop some of this weight before then. So far I am down 12lbs in about 6 weeks (yay) but I am so exhausted. I lift on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. On Tuesday and Thursday I ride my peloton, whether it be a class or an entertainment ride for 30-45 minutes, where I just ride with a resistance and watch Netflix. Just to keep my heart rate up and get a good sweat. I have been eating smaller meals and have been eating little to no fast food. I feel like this has been working for me, but I am beyond exhaus ..read more

I'm trying to achieve a toned and muscular body while developing healthy and sustainable eating habits. I'm getting mixed advice from various sources and unsure how to create a personalized plan that suits my needs. I need help developing a strategy that will allow me to figure things out on my own. I'm F 5'4 and 132 pounds. I've been tracking my food intake for the past few weeks. I've noticed that I average about 40g of protein a day. My trainer has advised that I need at least 100g of protein per day, while my doctor has suggested that my current intake is sufficient for muscle building, e ..read more

I got my feelings really hurt when I was at my kids well check visit a few days ago and because I have three small children I’ve become rather familiar with their pediatrician who made the comment “looks like mommy has lost some weight” it made me super happy to hear until I told them very proudly I was up to 50lbs of weight loss and it got down played because “50lbs seems like a lot until you add in that you had a baby x amount of months ago because the weight just seems to fall off” It in fact did not fall off after I had my premature son via c section and sat in the nicu eating my feeling ..read more

Ive lost about 50 lb in the last year, 34 of that since Oct last year. I have lost a steady 1 to 2 lb a week most of this time. I dont know if its the changing seasons and spring clothes showing more than winter but I have all of a sudden got people pointing out my wt loss and asking how I have done it all over social media and in person and Im uncomfortable! I appreciate the intention (I assume the best) but Im still uncomfortable. In the past I was pretty fit and lean and I had a couple of times in my adult life that I gained and lost around 20 to 30 lb. I had comments then but never like t ..read more

I’m 35 male 5’8 and had my rmr test done. It was the sit for 20 min and breathe into a top gun looking mask test. It came back at just under 900 cals. I’m 165 pretty active with goal weight of 155. I don’t know what to do with this information really… seems so low and would have to do a lot of exercise to even cut at 1500 calories no? That already is so little. Thoughts ? I know you’re not suppose to cut on that obviously but I’m kinda confused on what I would use for my daily target if I were to lead a sedentary lifestyle. I also am not lacking muscle, although it’s calisthenics I train regu ..read more

I made a post probably about a month ago, I was so hurt and disgusted about my body and how I could not loose weight. Everyone gave me so many encouraging words and it really did help. Well, ive been following with the calorie deficit and guess who lost 11lbs! ME. All i needed was that last little vent and some encouragement. I see and feel so many differences already. I was finally able to wear my $uicideboy$ shirt that ive been wanting to wear forever. I am so incredibly happy. Im mainly making this post to show others- you can do it. Its really NOT that hard. And remember, a little snack w ..read more

My stats: 5’4, 155lb, 21F For most of my life I’ve been pretty petite, stayed within the 120lb mark for most of my teens, but once I hit my twenties I was kinda hit with a wake up call. I’ve always eaten terribly, never been active, yet I was still able to keep my figure in shape, once I hit 20 though, it seems it’s not so easy anymore. I went from being 120, to 140, to gradually now 155. I was in denial for quite a long time, but in beginning of march this year I finally started to get a grip on myself, and promised myself I would try to change my life for the better. Losing weight was admit ..read more
