The Ernst Bros and I have talked about collaborating on an article on American muscle cars for a while. I wanted it to be different from all the "Top 10" or "Best 15" titles you see on the web. So, we decided to pick just one from the 1964-1972 era and call it the Best Muscle Car of all time. A very challenging task, I know...That's why I thought it would be a much better read if we had others give their take on the topic. I posted on LinkedIn asking my network. People who used to eat, sleep, and breathe gasoline during the golden era of American muscle. Folks who were out there racing on ..read more

Classic cars are often prized possessions of collectors and enthusiasts who appreciate their unique design, craftsmanship, and historical significance. But owning a vintage car also comes with the responsibility of protecting it against potential risks, such as accidents, theft, or damage.  Vintage cars are more than just modes of transportation – they are symbols of history, culture, and craftsmanship. As such, they require a different approach to insurance than modern cars. Classic car insurance policies are designed to protect the unique value and usage of vintage cars, and often come ..read more

Here's some details on the car: The chassis has 32k miles on it, garage find.   Was purchased in southern Virginia many years ago.  The trunk is a reproduction piece but other than that all of the metal is 67 mustang.  There are a few small metal patches here and there but it’s all metal.  The floors, aprons, torque boxes etc. are original with no rust.  Every mechanical system is new to include th ..read more

I’ve been a Cadillac enthusiast for years. The 1949 Cadillac has always been my favorite year, so when I got the opportunity to purchase this extremely solid 1949 Cadillac Convertible in Fort Worth, TX, I jumped on it. The asking price was fair, and even though the car has a modern LT1 engine and overdrive transmission, the seller included a 1949 Cadillac 331 engine & transmission with the car. Here are some of the photos of the car that were included in the for sale listing. As you can see, the Caddy is in fantastic shape. But – I’ve got big plans for it. I’m going to replace ..read more

Metal Fabrication and New Full Floor Pan Preparation
Classic Nation Blog

My ’67 Mustang is about as bare-bones as it can be. What was once a single piece has been sliced and diced some more. The entire front clip has been detached from the body, and the old, rusty floor and frame rails have been cut out. The frame table is going to make the next steps considerably easier to complete. It is really important to get everything square before welding the new metal back into the car. This project is going to involve a lot of metal fab to get things dialed back in to factory specs. Next up: The Dynacorn Full Floor/Trunk Pan (3648RWT) install! The post Metal F ..read more

My 1967 Mustang Fastback project is coming along nicely! Two weeks ago, I got the car back from the acid dip, and I’m currently getting ready to dive in to some metal repair/replacement. In the mean time, I’ve been collecting other parts and getting the rest of the build plan together. A month ago, I received the new factory style black vinyl upholstery with Comfortweave inserts, made by TMI. I also opted for a slightly modern style foam. Here’s the blog post where I shared the details. I dropped the new upholstery and old seats off at Stitches Custom Upholstery in Poulsbo, WA. I got them back ..read more

Hi everyone! I just wanted to share a quick update of the 1967 Mustang Fastback project, since I just got it back from the acid dipping place. Here’s the video showing the results: As you can see, the car is clean and bare metal now. There is a clear coat rust inhibitor that is preventing the car from flash rusting. After I perform the necessary metal repair/metal replacement, we’re going to epoxy primer the entire car, before starting in on the blocking and sanding, painting, and assembly. If you want to check out the video build thread, here’s the YouTube Playlist. Here’s a few more photos ..read more
