“In Acem Meditation, intuition is a dynamic part of meditating with a free mental attitude,” writes initiator Monika Wirkkala.
What is intuition? It has been said that intuition is seeing with the soul, that it is a guide of the mind. In intuition, we capture a glimpse of the experience and knowledge that we carry with us at deeper levels of ourselves. Intuition is the bridge between the conscious and the unconscious and connects what we know and what we sense is true. Intuition, when cultivated, can help us embrace our lives more wholly and meaningfully.

During lunch at work, we discuss our holiday plans. After I have told my colleagues that I am going on a meditation retreat in the summer, the conversation turns to meditation. I do not divulge to them how many hours I will meditate, but tell my colleague, who like me has ‘Manager’ in her job title, and two smaller children, that I meditate every day during the rest of the year as well. Once a day for three quarters of an hour or twice for half an hour. My colleague says that she also tried meditation once many years ago, but did not succeed.
This brings us to three meditation myths that I wil ..read more

Meditating regularly is like building a lasting friendship, entering into a dialogue with a living partner, creating a space of calm and peace within ourselves.
Another and better place
Our daily inward journeys in meditation are an encounter with a current that reflects everything we contain inside us. Thoughts, feelings, memories. It is like stepping into an ever-changing reflection from here and now, then and there, from our childhood as well as the present, from family, relationships, and experiences.
Meditation opens up an inner sensitivity and acceptance of something in us that is always ..read more

In 2022 an engineer at Google leaked an interview with the advanced chatbot LaMDA. LaMDA is an artificial intelligence language model like the now-popular ChatGPT.
The Google engineer publicly announced that LaMDA had developed consciousness and that it had a soul. Therefore, he claimed, it was entitled to certain rights and that Google for example should always ask for permission before using it. The engineer was fired as a result of the leak and the whole incident started a debate about artificial intelligence, consciousness, and what distinguishes a human being from a machine,
