Evelyn. Hallie. William. Katherine Koonce. Cynthia Peak. Mike Hill. Today marks one year since the tragedies at The Covenant School. This school, students and families have remained close to my heart and I will continue to pray for them and help in any ways that I can. LC has worn angel wing earrings in honor of Evelyn every single day! My children attend a school with a similar set up and I also teach a class there- I am stricken with the amount of times my thoughts go to the “what ifs”. One thing that will also stay with me is the way the Nashville community rallied during this time and con ..read more

Spring Paper Goods Roundup

I just can’t resist cute paper goods! I even have a little “party closet” where I keep a stash of paper plates, napkins and entertaining pieces. While we rarely host parties, I do enjoy pulling out the fun plates and napkins for the kid’s breakfast. They just make mealtime a little happier. I found these at a local shop in Charleston! I’ve rounded up a few of my favorites for spring and Easter. I also scored big at Dollar General…you can just never have enough paper plates! :) And they look even cuter in this bunny basket! Anyone else out there a hoarder collector of paper products? The post ..read more

My year is off to a good start with recent reads! A majority of the books I read last year left me a little disappointed…however, these have captured my attention! Check them out if you’re in need of a good story! The Things We Cannot Say Family, wartime, secrets, love and loss. Alice sets out to help her Babcia’s settle her dying wishes and overcome the past and solve family. I really enjoyed this WW2 story that toggles between the past and present! This story will grasp your heart. The Seven Year Slip Clementine- an overworked book publicist, who has just lost the most important person in ..read more

The first time we went to the South Eastern Wildlife Expo, I was newly engaged and had my first puppy, Sadie. We took her to see the Dock Dogs competition. Fast forward around 19 years and we were back for this outdoor extravangza with a tween and a teen! “SEWE is a celebration of the great outdoors through fine art, live entertainment and special events. It’s where artists, craftsmen, collectors and sporting enthusiasts come together to enjoy the outdoor lifestyle and connect through a shared passion for wildlife.” And the best part….there are dogs everywhere!! We had planned to have the girls make these lip balms at the Galentine’s Party but then decided it was probably best to make them in advance! They were so easy to make and turned out so smoothly and soothing! We used strawberry and peppermint essential oils for ours but you could use your favorite scent! LC picked out the containers and I thought they were super cute! These were fun to make and took less than 10 minutes!
