I am currently struggling with cell phone addiction, i spend around 9-10 hours a day mindlessly scrolling on social media. Now i want to focus more on studies, organizing and hobbies like drawing but i don’t have the motivation because my dopamine intake has been destroyed by social media. Do you know some free app that helps to limit screen time (i tried the screen time limit configuration from apple and it’s honestly awful). submitted by /u/Maboy_Quirrel [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Okay so I personally believe I am a strong leader and while leading various projects in my college I have excelled in leading groups in a manner that was friendly as well as showed by strong leadership. But during the offline meet they finally saw my face and since I look cute and innocent like a panda with a quiet voice I have observed people stopped taking me seriously now and have showed attempts to overpower me by sarcasm and stuff in a social context which apparently couldn't happen otherwise . For now I have remained very stoic to such attitude and have ignored . I can't ignore for long ..read more

Have anyone tried carnivore/keto to get better and more lasting focus throughout the day? I seem to crash whenever I eat a meal with carbs and rest of the day brain is fried (Im a student). I also go to the gym so Im considering no carbs for meal 1-2 then some carbs in meal 3-4 before and after gym. Would appreciate if anyone had try this or know anything about it? submitted by /u/Diesel_Formula [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Trying to find a way to randomly select playlists from my gallery

I have been using spotify for about 7 years and became an amateur music researche in the meantime, so to say that I have many playlists saved is an understatement. recently I have felt overwhelmed by all of them and have been feeling the need to give it all a listen and tidy it up, but I also got adhd and it's really really hard for me to be able to just pick a few playlists now and then. I end up switching up themes according to my mood, and can't seem to help myself at all. I've bumped into this website called jukebox which seemed like it would solve it but didn't load at all. So I would re ..read more

I am looking for a mail manager with good security.

(Everything that follows was translated from Spanish to English, so there is a possibility that there may be translation errors.) I searched all over the internet for some mail manager software with good security but found nothing, all the mail managers I found download mails locally and do not encrypt the downloaded database so literally by going to the correct folder you can see mails, and many do not even have the option to add a PIN!! Do you know of an email manager that does comply with basic security? submitted by /u/Coty999 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Since last year, I've been reading a lot of discussions about Productivity and ADHD (Including Andrew Huberman's podcast). I find lots of valuable tips and have been compiling them on my Obsidian note. I have tried some of them, and I want to share these with y'all: Increase focus (combat distractions) Disable all your notifications, except for essential apps I find taking less sugar or carbohydrates during lunch helps a lot! Less sleepy! Set clear expectations and targets with your team or supervisor Exercise in the morning or walk. Your brain will focus better after some exercise. Listen t ..read more

What things do we/you depend on that could be removed from our lives?

Sorry if the title is a bit confusing, let me explain. It's most often, as far as I know, considered that independence is a good thing. But each of us has some dependencies and some or many of those dependencies simply cannot be removed from our lives, such as our dependency on food, shelter and social contact. But there are also dependencies that can be removed, such as addictions, lack of financial independence, bad relationships. So my question for you is, what are some dependencies that you or people in general have that are optional and can be gotten rid of if you put the time and effort ..read more

16M. I feel like I'm at the pit of my life. My grades are falling to C's and D's. I write in my journal less and less now. I'm gorging on junk food. My masturbation addiction's back after a year. I have no one to help me, I've had no friends since the 5th grade, my parents constantly yell at me, my siblings, none of whom are male, don't relate to me in the slightest. I've been to this subreddit and r/getdisciplined before and I've looked through the techniques listed through Hot and New. I've tried them and they didn't work, no offense to you guys. I may be mentally challenged but I have no w ..read more

Why am I more active after a productive day at work?

It seems weird to me but it happens a few times, that when I really focus on my work and try to get things done without getting distracted thinking "why am I doing this nonsense", or scrolling on the phone eager to go back home, I am usually more active when I get off work and can get more things done at home (e.g. doing laundry, cleaning floor, etc). But if "pretend to be busy" at work and get nothing important done, I feel more exhausted and only want to lie in bed, and cannot even cook dinner after work. This is a bit weird to me since if I use up a lot of energy at work (by working hard ..read more
