Win10 VMWare Player guest running in Mint Cinnamon 21.3 Host on Lenovo P16s AMD (21K9001NUS) with Hi Res 3840x2400 screen. 2nd portable USB-C monitor 2560x1600. Guys please help me. Today I installed VMware 17 Pro to facilitate learning, but when I installed it on the Z: drive, after rebooting, the Z: drive disappeared. When I went to Disk Manager, I saw the error "a device which does not exist was specified" Then I tried disabling it and it disappeared from Disk manager. I went to Cmd and typed list disk but it didn't show up. I tried going back to VMware's installation file to try to remove it, but it said invalid drive Z. : After that, it automatically exits. My VAR is telling me no but provided no evidence. We have 8 months left on our 3 years and due to the Broadcom increases decided to consolidate and cut the environment from 12 hosts to 5. We accomplished this earlier than expected. If I cancel Cisco or HPE or Parkplace support early I can give notice and generally get a credit back. Hello, I have a customer on the latest 8.x vCenter version, and even though we've removed the adavanced options/set syslog forwarding to false. And rebooted vCenter, syslog events still get forwarded to the syslog server. Is there some trick to turning this off? Thinking it's some sort of vCenter bug. Thank you! Our current hosts are running (ESXi 7) with the Bios in legacy mode. The hardware vendor recently posted a guide to update the host to esxi8, including changing bios to UEFI mode. The issue one of the steps in the guide forces me to rebuild the hosts from group up with version 8 (our target) My question is can I follow this guide to backup host config on version 7 and restore it on version 8.x? Please do not recommend VMware LCM or any other manual in-place upgrade methods. Hi there. We're a SMB - 3 hosts, 2CPU (12 cores each = 72 physical cores total). Purchased VMWare Essentials 3 years ago when we did our last hardware refresh. Bought the 3 year warranty at time of purchase. We're due for a renewal, been working with our VAR, obviously some changes with the Broadcom acquisition.
