GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) -- The Greenville County Sheriff's Office is in the early stages of investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday night.
According to the sheriff's office, the shooting took place around 10:10 p.m. at 1 Lakeside Road. Upon arrival, deputies found a woman with at least one gun shot wound.
The woman was subsequently taken to the hospital for her injuries,

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) -- If you're a Swiftie and a student at East Carolina University, have we got something for you.
This fall, "English 1500: Taylor's Version" is coming to ECU. It will be taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30-1:45 p.m. by Dr. Anna Froula, a professor of English in the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences, according to the ECU News Services.
It is a course that satisfies a general education humanities requirement.

WOODRUFF, S.C. - As the weekend came to a close, a riverside festival in Woodruff celebrated all things local.
People gathered at Events by the River, a venue location alongside the Enoree River, to celebrate the third annual River Fest.
“Once they get here they are really surprised to see wow this is really pretty," said Woodruff resident, Andera Wooten. "I didn't realize that dirt road was bringing us here, but that's country and we don't have enough of that anymore so take a back road you never know what you will find."

LOVES PARK, Ill. (WGN) — An Illinois woman was in "complete shock" after winning $1 million on a lottery ticket that a gas station customer gifted her earlier this week, lottery officials said.
The woman received the Lucky Day Lotto ticket from a regular customer at a Fas Mart in Loves Park, about 85 miles northwest of Chicago, according to a press release.
The ticket, which only cost $1, matched all five numbers for the midday drawing on Monday, April 22. The winning numbers were 3, 4, 6, 25 and 27.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) -- A Marion man accused in the March 15 killing of New Mexico State Police officer Justin Hare will go to trial this summer, according to federal court records.
Smith, 33, pleaded not guilty April 18 to charges including carjacking resulting in death, causing death by the discharge of a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, kidnapping resulting in death and interstate transport of a stolen vehicle.
Jury selection and a potential start to the trial is slated for June 10 at the Pete V. Domenici United States Courthouse in Albuquerque.

ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) -- A Belton mill fire is being investigated by firefighters and state law enforcement.
According to the Belton Fire Department, a call came in around 8:11 p.m. Saturday regarding smoke and fire coming from the office of Blair Mill on 115 Little Street.
Blair Mill was an operating textile mill until it shut down in 2010.
Firefighters were at the scene by 8:14 p.m. and put out the flames while searching the property.
During the search for hidden fires, firefighters found several fires in separate locations.

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, N.C. (WSPA) -- Spindale police officers are on the lookout for a man who escaped prison Sunday.
According to the Spindale Police Department, Roy Steven Buff, fled the Rutherford Correctional Center around 1:02 p.m., after running through an open gate.
Buff then headed towards New Hampshire Street and Ledbetter Road on foot.
Roy Buff was last seen running through the yards near the 300 block of New Hampshire Street, wearing a grey t-shirt, green pants and tennis shoes.
The escapee is 5'7" tall and weighs around 179 pounds, with green eyes and brown hair.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — A former police officer has been charged with murder after he allegedly shot and killed a man from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, outside of a Chick-fil-A in Summerville, South Carolina.
According to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, former Summerville Police Officer Anthony DeLustro, 64, is charged with murder in the death of 39-year-old Michael O'Neal, of Winston-Salem. SLED did not provide a mugshot of DeLustro.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — A helicopter crew recovered on Saturday the body of a climber who died after falling about 1,000 feet while on a steep, technical route in Alaska’s Denali National Park and Preserve, park officials said in a statement.
Robbi Mecus, 52, of Keene Valley, New York, died of injuries sustained in a fall Thursday while climbing a route on the southeast face of the 8,400-foot Mount Johnson, the park said.
