I play opposite on the u-19 team and the adult team in my club
But I noticed I underperform a lot on the u-19 team even if it is the worse team, I have a hard time hitting very precisely, float serve most of the time, and I’m general miss a lot more
On the other hand on the adult league, last game I dropped 12 points in the fist set with 4 aces, on a far harder opponent, I never did anything similar to that on the u-19 team, but is almost the norm playing with the adults even if I’m the youngest around
What makes it more frustrating is that I normally underperform on semis or finals on the u ..read more

I'm in 7th grade right now and I kind of want to start playing volleyball. I have some concerns though, like for one I'm actually trash. I suck pretty bad but I know I can improve with practice because for someone who has never played before I can at least sometimes make a decent receive. I also don't know what position I should play and I don't know that much about the rules of the game but I can obviously learn. And my last and biggest concern is that it's to late to start now, everyone I know that plays already has some knowledge and can play decently. Like I said I'm in 7th grade so the y ..read more

Just checking up to see how I’m preforming. Thank you guys for the advice and encouragement, it’s been a big help! My snap and my draw back has gotten so much better over these past few weeks. As always, advice for the last video is much appreciated. Thanks again!

I'm a 15 year old sophomore in high school and I'm 5'8. I'm most likely going to be on varsity next year but to start I have to get my vertical up because the other setters arent very tall either. However, I have a very bad vertical so I can't block at all. I can only really get a hand above the net plus an inch or two.
I've been lifting weights for almost a year now but I only recently started doing legs consistently, and I can squat my bodyweight (135lb) for around 5 reps.
However, I'm wondering what everyone else did to increase their vert quickly and optimally. Even with my leg workouts I ..read more

If you could change anything about volleyball knee pads to make them more comfortable and functional what would you change or want them to do?
I find that knee pads are just super uncomfortable even when I size up and so I’d like to hear others thoughts.

Hi all! I’m hoping to write a romance novel this summer and it involves volleyball. Does anyone know how many statisticians there would be for a professional volleyball game? Like for one team is it just one person doing all the stats?
Silly question, but I’ve never been on the statistics side of volleyball before.

Have you guys ever met someone who keeps forcing unsolicited advice to your throat? I have been playing lib and this guy who plays OH keeps nitpicking me and giving unwanted feedback to me. Whenever he misses a ball in middle back, he would blame me how I should take the ball for him and “teach” me to cover tips and deep corner saying this is lib’s job. I wondered what a OH should cover in the middle back then? I tried to avoid contact with him and draw my boundaries. He literally ignored it and constantly talked to me regardless.
I feel like this is a toxic loop since he would just blame me ..read more

Ive been working on hip shoulder separation in tandem with knee torque mechanics to be able to use my entire body as a coil. I understand that the legs play a huge part in storing and releasing energy for the spike, through torque. The motion of the knees also helps encourage natural hip shoulder sep, but I just cant force my body to do both things correctly.
Does anyone have any tips for encouraging the knees to go back (i.e through a longer, more powerful, less kick-y penultimate step)? And then for the knees (especially the knee of the dominant side) to subsequently twist and extend ou ..read more
