What is Data Examination?
The terms ‘Data Science’ and ‘Data Analyst’ are considered hot topics in the IT world. The problem is that these are generic terms and mean different things to different people and organizations. As a result, I am calling this ‘Data Examination’. In this case, Data Examination refers to the ability to use the Pandas DataFrame to get a first look at the data, slice it into useful bits of information to make a decision, clean the data, get stats on the data, and add more information to a dataframe.
In the end, you will have a better understanding of how Pandas can be us ..read more

If you’re a .NET developer, you’ve probably been wondering how to run your app in a container and take advantage of the isolated and portable nature of containers. This article will give you the full lowdown on Windows Containers, to prepare you to do just that.
Why Windows?
First, I want to acknowledge that there is a big difference between Linux and Windows containers. Linux containers have been around for many decades, in one form or another. A special note from CEO, Sam Kroonenburg:
I’m pleased to announce that effective today, we are reducing the regular price of a Linux Academy individual membership.
As the global workforce adjusts to a new, unprecedented reality, working and learning from anywhere has become not just a possibility, but a necessity. To support the community during this sudden transition, we recently offered a temporary price reduction. In the weeks since it’s become clear that this is more than a temporary disruption; this is our new normal. And meeting the learning needs of the globally distributed community r ..read more

On July 11th, 2019 I found myself in New York City with about 10,000 other cloud enthusiasts. This was my first big cloud conference with Linux Academy and it was overwhelming, to say the least. As a newcomer, I was armed with the knowledge of my company and our awesome platform, but I didn’t know much about the other vendors throughout the venue—except one. A Cloud Guru was our fiercest competitor and if there was anything I was well aware of, it was their team and offerings. We even shared the same level of sponsorship for the event and so our booths were the exact same size, with similar lo ..read more

By now you’ve heard the stories that Microsoft loves Linux and fully embraces the open-source world. Microsoft, under Satya Nadella, has taken a new stance on open-source, which to some is a complete flip-flop from the Microsoft of the past. The “New Microsoft” is one of the top open-source contributors on GitHub and has opened the following projects to open-source:
PowerShell
Visual Studio Code
Edge
Windows Terminal
Calculator
TypeScript
.NET Core
Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL)
and many more.
Not to mention, in October of 2018, Microsoft joined the Open Invention Network (OIN) and has open ..read more

You’ve heard about AWS Certifications, and you’ve probably also heard that AWS certified engineers are making 6 figures.
And after some research, you’re seeing that many organizations are choosing to hire certified engineers over non-certified engineers. With the promise of a brighter future, and now, online exams, you’re considering getting an AWS certification.
The problem, however, is that you’ve started to realize certification requires a significant commitment of both time and money. Even the most basic certification exam costs $150, and the more advanced ones are twice that. Then, there ..read more

Recently, AWS announced all exams will now be online-proctored exams

A computer with webcam, microphone, and speakers or headphones
A solitary, private location where space around you is quiet
A quality internet connection without any excessive security measures
But wait, there’s more
Microsoft, while less extensive, also offers some online e ..read more
