Hi, I installed Ubuntu 23.10 today alongside my windows 10 installation to test and get everything I need setup and working on Ubuntu until I'm confident in fully changing over. I had it all setup and configured to my liking, I was happy and very confident. I had windows and Linux operating on my laptop. The windows was on the SSD which is 256 gb. The Linux was on the HDD which was 1TB. One day I tried to open my laptop and I got a GNU GRUB Version 2.06 screen. I didn’t know what to do so I restarted my laptop, opened the bios and I can’t find the HDD. Hi, I'm new on Linux and trying to use this ubuntu system but I have several freezing, errors on booting or just crash using Firefox or chrome or any programs, my system are full updated and upgraded. I've looked into so many things and I'm getting a lot of conflicting information. I need to run a chromium based browser to access teams meetings. I had no issues getting Centos to read my CAC, but I can't do it with ubuntu 22.04. I've read it has something to do with snap. I installed out of snap. I read that I need sssd, but I can't get that to start properly. I got a .conf, but the conf.d directory is empty and Idk what it wants in there. Similar to how you can run gui apps with WSL2 Ubuntu on Windows, I was wondering if there was a way to do the same on Mac (Apple Silicon, not Intel) I don't want the full bulky Ubuntu Desktop installation on UTM or another VM, I was wondering if there was a way to use something like an Ubuntu Server on any sort of VM (less bulky to install/use) and boot up GUI apps natively in Mac.
