Hello world, is everyone ok?Maybe it's a long shot, but here we go: couple of years ago a colleague who i don't have contact anymore showed me a book, i can't remember the main subject of the book, but it had a session dedicated to showcase old experimental websites (old like late 90's, i think). All the sites had incredible crazy design and even crazier url (something like "dfgdvdfhsfbfdfg.com"). I don't even know if those sites are still online (probably not), but I'm looking for any information about. Does anyone here knows something about those ancient pearls of the internet? submitted b ..read more

Hi guys, so I have multiple years of managing wordpress and designing etc but the bit that's really stopping me from going out there and trying to get some clients etc, is I really have no idea about the managing of the servers themselves. DNS records, migration best practices, email routing, etc etc. Anyone got any good resources and can point me in the direction to learn this side of web design? submitted by /u/Qontinent [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello, I'm looking for developers and designers who want to participate in a beginner project to create a website. I made a post a few days ago in another subreddit, and we've already started designing and documenting with those who joined. We're discussing the architecture. There's no pay, of course, but if we were to publish the website, everyone who participated would be paid, and they could continue working. And if it doesn't work out, they'll have a good project for their portfolio. Whether you're Frontend or Backend developers, or designers, everything is welcome. The important thing is ..read more

I've been asked to redesign a site for a foundation. I can't use stock photos, but all of their photos were taken by random people with their phones or pocket cameras (not recently) at various events, not photographers. How would you proceed with a new design that integrated these kinds of photos?

There's also not a whole lot of call to action with this foundation. The site is just informational, so there aren't lots of opportunities to add variety with buttons. (I just added this sentence mainly because body text is required.) submitted by /u/Crobran [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Where are places I can look for SVG files to use? I don't mind if they're not free

I'm looking at etsy and I'm finding 80% of what I need, and am tempted to contact one or two of the artists for a request if I don't find another place to look. specifically I'm looking for svg files themed after appliances (I need a microwave, stove, washing machine, and a dishwasher) The dishwasher is rather difficult to find. As I look closer to the other appliances I found they could certainly be more uniform which is why I'm tempted to contact one of the artists that best suits the style I'm targeting. Before I reach out to them, are there alternative sources I can check out? I don't wan ..read more

I'm working on a landing page for a car repair shop and so far I've come up with those 3 examples but I can't decide on one, I have only 4 or 5 photos and in the text it says see my shop below, which one do you think will look and function the best and if you have other suggestions I'd love to hear about it. Thank you. https://preview.redd.it/cnyaujn2p9vc1.png?width=1147&format=png&auto=webp&s=181f0d00692534f967a447225b1a4978dd1bddea https://preview.redd.it/4skhtln2p9vc1.png?width=1149&format=png&auto=webp&s=a4fcc18e91961ac8e668f8a8aec5bb9cf404bc98 https://preview ..read more
