Michael Henderson, a Principal Research Scientist at the IBM Research Center in New York (link here), is visiting the Mathematics Department this week (15-19 April), for research interaction, and to give a talk. Imran Nasim (AI Engineer at IBM, and Visiting Assistant Professor at Surrey) has been appointed to the Gateway Advisory Board. The Newton Gateway to Mathematics is the impact initiative of the Isaac Newton Institute (INI) in Cambridge and reaches out to and engages with the users of mathematics, in industry, business, public sector and other scientific disciplines.
