The Bank of Ireland Leinster Rugby Girls Senior and Junior Finals took place at Energia Park on Friday afternoon. The 10-a-side format was played out on a full pitch, with 14 minutes a game, seven minutes each way. Holders Newbridge would hold onto their Senior title against The High School, while Wilson’s Hospital would rule the roost in the Junior ranks. Later on this afternoon, Energia Park will host the Bank of Ireland Leinster Rugby Girls Schools Finals Day, with four teams playing across the junior and the senior grade in the 10s format, to see who will be crowned champions in the two finals. The games will be ten-a-side, on a full pitch, with 14 minutes a game, seven minutes each way, and each school will play the other school in their four-team group once to decide who makes it to the senior final at 2pm and the junior final at 2.20pm. The Bank of Ireland Leinster Schools Senior and Junior Development Cup and Shield Finals took place at Energia Park on Thursday. ST MARY’S CBS, PORTLAOISE 38 CREAGH COLLEGE, GOREY 7 Daniel Downey and Joe Larkin both grabbed a brace of tries in St Mary’s eclipse of Creagh in the Junior Development Shield final on the back pitch.
