Kerala India: Human by Nature

Kerala is Human by Nature Great landscapes are one thing, and Kerala offers them in spades, but for many visitors to this state on India’s tropical Malabar coast, it is the “humanscapes” or “peoplescapes” that keep them coming back. Kerala Tourism has adopted the new slogan “Human by Nature” as part of its latest campaign to steer travellers in its direction, and I think they’ve hit the nail on the head. Kerala is known as God’s Own Country, and not for the variety of religions found here. It’s a reference to the natural beauty that defines the area. Thundering waterfalls, impossi ..read more

Unique Things to Do in Los Angeles

Los Angeles often gets overlooked in favour of other large American cities when it comes to bucket list experiences. Traffic, smog, and the fact that the city is so spread out are the chief complaints, but for those willing to take on the city’s often relentless gridlock and hazy skies, there are plenty of unique and entertaining things to do all year round. Finding reliable information about L.A. activities can be daunting sometimes — especially with the high turnover among tour and venue operators. One source of solid intel is CheapOair’s monthly YouTube video series. I’ve been to Los Angel ..read more

Go Ahead, Be Cheap: How to Find the Cheapest Airfare Deals with CheapOair
Man On The Lam | Travel & Lifestyle Blog

Note: This is a collaboration with CheapOair Did you know that CheapOair is “flight focused”? To be honest, the first time I heard it, I didn’t even know what that exactly meant. What it means is that while many other online travel sites offer airfares, their focus is actually on hotel room bookings — which offer a considerably higher profit margin. CheapOair offers hotel room bookings, car rentals, cruises, vacations and more as well, but their focus is airfare — so they are generally able to source greater deals.  That was one thing that I wasn’t aware of when I was asked to write about sea ..read more

Eating Monkey Penis and Other Unique Things to Do in Chanthaburi, Thailand

Last year the Tourism Authority of Thailand invited me on a trip to Chanthaburi that I’m only now getting around to writing about. So much was packed into the 3 days, 2 nights that I hope I do it justice. It was an amazing weekend trip from Bangkok. I had heard of Chanthaburi before, but to be honest it just wasn’t on my radar. Since I was sadly ignorant of any activities or things to do in Chanthaburi, I jumped at the chance to check out the area for a few days. Known for its fascination with durian (there’s even an annual Durian Festival) and gemstones (80% of the world’s gems pass through ..read more

After the splendid time we spent at the Himalayan Travel Mart conference in Kathmandu, Nepal, we were pumped to spend 4 fantastic days exploring Pokhara. The first two we spent at the lovely Rupakot Resort in the hills just outside Pokhara. About Rupakot Resort  Rupakot Resort is an eco-friendly property nestled in the mountains about an hour’s drive from Pokhara, or about 30 minutes from the main highway leading into the town.  We loved that there were tables and chairs both inside the room and outside on the balcony. Although the rooms were generously sized at 370 sq ft, we spent most of ..read more

Exploring Nepal’s Chitwan National Park #HTM2019

Chitwan National Park To be completely honest, I’d not heard much about Chitwan National Park before Ryan and I showed up for Himalayan Travel Mart in Nepal this past June. We’d been invited to attend through Impact Travel Alliance — a global community and non-profit aimed at improving the world through travel. Upon arrival, I learned that Chitwan, along with Kathmandu and Pokhara, are part of what’s called Nepal’s Golden Triangle — the three must-see places for anyone who wants to experience the major highlights of Nepal. That of course doesn’t include Nepal’s other major draw — trekking Mou ..read more

While this article is geared towards those seeking Digital Nomad Travel Medical Insurance, it applies to anyone who is seeking affordable long-term travel insurance — generally more than the 30-day travel medical insurance coverage that most premium credit cards allow. We’ll take a look at coverage (medical, travel, and baggage), cost, and purchasing tips so you can make an informed decision about which long-term Digital Nomad Travel Medical Insurance is right for you. I’ve never fully embraced the term “Digital Nomad” (I’m more of an “Analog Hobo” myself) but that doesn’t mean I forgo ever ..read more
