Only one table. Bar game. Got dealt Jacks three times in a row. First time, UTG, bet 400 (blinds 50/100). Everyone folds. Next hand get them again. I said "Let's try that again" and bet 400. Got callers, hit set, got paid. Third time, same bet, everyone folds. Later got them twice again and won both times.
I think the odds are 1 in 10,793,861?
Oh I took 2nd. But with only 1 table just got $60.

I have been successfully beating the rake at micro-stake 1-3 locally for few years. For the most part am positive even if it’s pocket money.
Recently I started playing super micro stakes 30$ tournaments and I got in the final table 3 times and winning once
So I decided to take a chance on a 600$ 200k multi day tournament And I busted 2 out of the money
And then I decided to try another and again I got out 11 before the final table
In two weeks I want to try two more big tournaments in AC but I am heartbroken because I was so close to the money
I just need encouragement and pointers on how to ..read more

Every time he raises. It’s ridiculous. He’ll grab two chips, twist the top chip off, lick it like he’s trying to get its cream, and then says with such unearned bravado, “Good luck, kiddo.” He makes direct eye contact with me each time. It’s so unnerving. If he takes down the pot, he’ll crane his neck straight to the ceiling and go “Love you, pops!” But he’s trash and loses most of the time. Then he’ll just sadly whisper to the dealer, “I’m so sorry.” He gives everyone the willys and I honestly hate him so much. I’ve called over the floor, but they don’t care. This guy loses so much at the ca ..read more

Here’s proof that GGPoker rake on microstakes IS beatable. I know it’s a small sample of 32 k hands but it’s not that bad imo. .05/.10 NL

Be honest, only count things you can control.
For me - study. I study but not half as much as I should do.

TLDR: Fish gets his first “high hand” and actually has fun winning and playing poker :)
I remember the day as if it were yesterday. I believe the first time I was introduced to poker, I was only 11 years old. The year was 2012 and I was playing Zynga Poker on Facebook to pass the summertime. 12 years later and I can say that I’ve booked my first real win. Here’s how it all kinda went down.
Over the last few months since the start of 2024, I’ve played probably around 6 to 7 sessions of poker in the 1/2 game, whether I was at Orange City Poker Room, Seminole Hard Rock in Tampa, or even in ..read more
