Spring has always been a tricky season for me when it comes to a concise sense of style and it feels really good to finally have a cohesive foundation to work from.
When it comes to curating an intentional and functional wardrobe versatility needs to be a priority. When I say something is “versatile” what I mean is:
It can easily mix and match with most of the closet.
It can be styled several different ways.
It can work for a range of occasions from casual to elevated.
It feels good to wear and move in, whether sitting, walking, driving or active.
This year I made a point of noting which ite ..read more

Around this time of year I always get asked, “What do you wear to more formal events?” and since I’ve got a few on my summer calendar it felt like the perfect time to share my answers!
Last week I posted a fun styling reel in partnership with Poppy Barley, an incredible Canadian accessories brand to bookmark. I created three looks for summer occasions (think weddings, showers and engagement parties) featuring their new Harley Heeled Sandal and the Day To Night Bag, both of which are incredibly functional, versatile and expertly crafted.
Today I’m sharing those three looks in a bit more detail ..read more

In each Style Bee newsletter I share a sentiment that spoke to me during the week. Sometimes it’s a question that got me thinking, sometimes it’s a thought that stuck with me, sometimes it’s a bit of gentle guidance. I often hear from subscribers that the sentiments have resonated with them as well and I thought it would be worth sharing some from this year so far here on the blog.
Yes, quotes can be a bit eye roll inducing but they can also be comforting, encouraging, thought-provoking and even perspective shifting. When someone’s words meet us where we’re at it can help us feel less isolated ..read more

I love using the 1 base – 3 ways styling exercise to see more potential in my wardrobe. Today I’m using a fitted tank and relaxed trousers as my base because it’s such a timeless and versatile foundation to build on. You can easily dress it up or down.
It’s also perfect for travel if you want to keep your packing lean and still have something polished and comfortable to wear for different activities.
I’ve been thinking about my warm weather style more lately and this base is essentially how I plan to start any outfit once the snow has melted.

When it comes to dressing in the warmer months, few things are more effortless than a simple linen set.
So naturally, when I saw that The Sleep Shirt, a Canadian-made line of gorgeous sleepwear and everyday styles, was releasing a one in their spring collection, I just had to give the styles a try.
It can be hard to find a linen set that walks the fine line between elevated and easy-going and I think this one manages to strike that delicate balance beautifully. It’s as ready for dog walks and weekend lounging as it is for an upscale engagement party or a summer soirée.
In today’s post I’m a cl ..read more
