Hi, I am currently at the post production of my first independent film (nearly 1 hour duration). The edit is ready for dub. That's it. Re - recording is progressing now. However, I have reached a point wherein I can't make judgements as to how/if the scenes work. Is it because the score, music isn't locked? Sometimes, it stirs me up so bad that whenever I have a look at it, it feels so disconnected to me. I know it's good to take a break and come back to it (which I will), but if not for that, filmmakers out here, how have you'll tackled this situation? Any advice would be a huge relief to me ..read more

I know it's kind of unusual since this is a Minecraft video. but Minecraft is my only way for me to create film like videos! This video truly made me happy since it is very well made! My work is more like of a series you could say, so if you guys are interested to see the whole story plot, I'll link it here: Link: Procraft S3 Chapter 8 | "The Final Moments" - YouTube Anyways, back with what I need, can you guys give any feedback with my work? Because this is currently one of my best videos yet! The atmosphere of the video, to the lines of the actors are well done if I do say so myself! So ..read more

Hi all, is there a way to prevent lines like this from appearing in the recording and (at the moment more importantly), is there a way to deal with them in post? https://preview.redd.it/x317chzd7zwc1.jpg?width=1605&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=223f799082a24ebc66ee761a945a703ffb42c90e submitted by /u/beautifulplanet [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I am looking for a filmmaker with a short film for a music video

So I have a song that needs a video. I saw one online recently that was awesome but the filmmakers are unfortunately nowhere to be found. So I'm looking for a short, high-quality film about two friends and grief when one passes suddenly. This would be for a music video for music I've created. I'd love to collaborate with someone or license a film already created. Is it ok to post this request here? I figured it would get me a decent chance of finding someone with a film or vision that would work. submitted by /u/vshredd [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Got humbled at a 48hr film festival, I’m so thankful.

I (32f) entered a 48 hour film festival to try my hand at Dp-ing a short. The rules included being able to choose your own team plus the standard 48 hour stuff, but I had only ever participated as an actor in previous years, so it was my first time entering as a team lead. I’ve been making content on YouTube for the last few years, so I’m pretty confident with solo filming, lighting, and standard videography, but at the last minute, I decided to write a concept that I wouldn’t act in. I didn’t have time to find real actors or any other crew. you can probably guess where this is going. Filming ..read more

How to make digital camcorder footage look like an old soap opera?

hello! i am planning to shoot an experimental film with a sony handycam hdr-cx150 that i have lying around. i would like for this film to have an intentionally flat visual style, similar to that of early 2000s soap operas. does anyone have any advice on how i could achieve such an effect with lens filters or manipulation in post? i know the footage will already be relatively low res as the camcorder doesnt shoot higher than 1080p but i still don't think it will have that "flat" look i am seeking. many thanks to anyone who can help. submitted by /u/eschatonbringer [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

How to get “time lapse” sort of effect without actually time lapsing?

Hi everyone. So I’ve wrote this script for a short film where for five minutes there is one single frame being recorded and every night a man walks into the frame, does something, and then walks out. While I only want the film to be about five minutes, it’s supposed to take place over at least a month, how can I achieve a Timelapse effect that gives me the time I want while not actually having to record a one month time lapse? Also, near the end, I want to come out of Timelapse mode without cutting, so how can I make this possible as well? Thanks so much in advance for your help and I am new ..read more

I'm an associate producer on a feature film who has been tasked with researching various crowdfunding options. What is the consensus on S&S? Any really good experiences? Any really bad experiences? Are there any other really good options out there? Are there any crowdfunding options we should avoid? Thanks! submitted by /u/LowLeadership8360 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
