The Street Fighter movie shows off its logo and it looks... exactly how you'd expect

If you forgot a new Street Fighter movie was happening, don't worry, me too, but the film's logo is here to remind us it exists. Last year, Legendary Entertainment gave the honestly not that surprising announcement that a Street Fighter movie was in the works. Video game movies are all the rage these days, after all, and the same production company also made Detective Pikachu and found a lot of success there, so why not a franchise like Street Fighter? We still haven't actually seen anything of the movie itself, nor has any talent been attached to it just yet, but thanks to Collider there is ..read more

Witcher 3 mod lets you explore the first Witcher game's Vizima, less than a day after REDkit made it possible

Ok, so it's been less than 24 hours since CD Projekt let folks get their hands on The Witcher 3's new REDkit modding tools. Naturally, someone's already had a go at porting the bunch of areas that make up the city of Vizima in The first Witcher game into 3. If you're out of the loop, REDKIT is designed to give folks modding CDPR's masterpiece more power than ever before, with access to a lot of the same tools the studio orginally used to create the game itself. That includes the ability to do stuff like create new quests, or as is key in this case, add in entire new territories. So, the latte ..read more

Hot off of the success of X-Men '97, the MCU seemingly finds a writer for its own X-Men film

The X-Men have been teased in the MCU for a little while now, but it's sounding like a film of their own is finally in the works. In films like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and series like Ms. Marvel, the MCU has slowly been sowing the seeds of the X-Men, with the former having an alternate universe of Patrick Stewart's Charles Xavier slightly unceremoniously killed off, and the latter retconning Ms. Marvel to be a mutant as opposed to an Inhuman. Now, as reported by Deadline, it sounds like Marvel is getting its ass in gear with the X-Men. According to Deadline's report, Mich ..read more

Desperate for X-Men '97 season 2? Understandable, but Marvel's streaming boss wants you to remember how long animation takes

It sure sounds like X-Men '97 season 2 is happening, but Marvel's head of streaming has offered a friendly reminder of how long animation takes to make. X-Men: The Animated Series might have wrapped up almost 30 years ago, but as evidenced by the success of X-Men '97, it's clear people were hungry for more of that particular take on the beloved world of mutants. Marvel could see that success coming too, clearly, as a second season was greenlit before the show even aired. However, it is an animated series, and a lot of people just don't seem to realise how long animation takes from script to s ..read more

As promised, FromSoftware has released a fresh look at Shadow of the Erdtree, the massive expansion coming to Elden Ring in just a few weeks. This new story trailer is full of new footage, though most of it is CG. The trailer is fairly beefy, clocking in at about three minutes. Though it does offer an updated look at the inciting events behind the DLC's story, it's mainly a mood piece more than anything. Read more ..read more

Hello there. Another games studio has left the warm, er, embrace of the nice little friendship thing Embracer Group recently morphed into, and it's via an acquisition by Nintendo this time. The studio is Shiver Entertainment, and if you've ever played Mortal Kombat 1 on Switch, you've enjoyed a bit of their work. This news follows what's been an interesting year so far for the publisher that Saber Interactive founder Matthew Karch has argued gets a bit of a bad rap, with Embracer having jettisoned Saber and Borderlands developer Gearbox Software in recent months. As outlined in Nintendo's not ..read more

The '80s just seems to be repeating on loop, as Apple finally confirms the release date for its TV adaptation of Time Bandits. Look, I get it, to some of you, the '80s was this fun decade that reinvented pop culture, but to someone that wasn't even born then, seeing nostalgia for it or reboots from that era is just starting to feel a bit rote. But, here we are, with an announcement from Apple that its "first-ever television adaptation of cult classic" Time Bandits is finally out this coming July 24. The series will of course be streaming on the hardware and software maker's Apple TV+, so you ..read more

Good news, people who enjoy it when video games bring back things people used to like many years ago in the hopes that you'll still like them now you're a lot older. NFS Underground-inspired drag and drift events have arrived in Need For Speed: Unbound today, May 21, as part of the latest update to the series' most recent entry. We originally learned that these modes would be coming to the game via the release roadmap back in February, which outlined a year of in-game stuff designed to help celebrate NFS turning 30 in December.
