California’s 11 non-profit Caregiver Resource Centers (CRC) provide a critical layer of support and services to family caregivers across the state. The purpose of this study is to test the feasibility and preliminary outcomes of an education and skills training program for caregivers post-stroke. The intention is to provide an additional resource for caregivers after their loved one is discharged from the hospital, since resources are often lacking post-discharge. This study is seeking people with dementia (ages 60 and older) and their family caregivers that live together in the home setting. Participants will be provided with a weighted blanket and the person with dementia will be asked to use it every day for 4-weeks.  All communication with the research team will be over the phone or Zoom virtual conferencing system, there is no in-person contact.
