ALGIERS, La (WGNO) — Family members have identified the woman who was shot and killed in the 300 block of Ptolemy Street on Monday, April 22, as 25-year-old Brittany Ussin.
Her family described her as a loving friend and proud mother of six.
Videos, posted to social media, show Ussin getting attacked and dragged by a group of women.
Several arrested in New Orleans Police Department Special Operations Division investigation
At one point, during one of the videos, a loud pop can be heard. Investigators said Ussin was shot at least once. She was taken to a local hospital where she died.

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — As Odyssey House Louisiana celebrates the opening of their new community health center in the Treme neighborhood, the staff is also looking ahead to the future.

COVINGTON, La. (WGNO) — A man was arrested after a traffic stop led to a fentanyl bust in Covington on Thursday, April 18.
The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office reported its narcotics division received information about a man who was "suspected to be dealing in the Covington area."

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A conviction was secured by the Orleans Parish District Attorney's Office in a 2022 rape investigation involving an intellectually disabled woman.
Through the efforts of the Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI) team, the district attorney's office was able to convict Sterling Benjamin.
