The 2024 Pacific Audio Fest was a small show, smaller than I've seen in a while, but it featured several exhibit rooms that sounded absolutely spectacular. It's a phenomenon that still requires me, of course, to pick out my choices for the Best Sound of Seattle. I'm not sure about the reasons for the diminutive ..read more

Although Hi-End Asia featured 30% more exhibitors than the previous year, it remains relatively small compared to major events like AXPONA or Munich Hi-End. However, audio shows are boxing matches. Size is not everything. Smaller events offer a more intimate experience. Large-scale shows often attract manufacturers seeking new dealers and distributors and may focus less ..read more

This was one of my favorite rooms at Hi-End Asia, and it certainly stood out as one of the top-tier-sounding setups at the show. It is one of those rooms where you sit down and don't want to leave. The system gave a flawless performance of Anette Askvik’s “Liberty”, fully projecting her distinctive vocal style ..read more

KENAZ, a speaker manufacturer based in Taiwan, offers distinctive designs with its products. The KENAZ AD36 is an active speaker featuring a powerful 700W internal amplifier, priced at $7,799. Its sound quality was notably unique and unlike anything else exhibited at the show, though I find it challenging to articulate its exact characteristics. It’s just ..read more

Audiomis was a delightful new find, offering remarkable value with their bookshelf speakers starting at just SGD 1,099. They evoke a sense of nostalgia, reminiscent of the days when a pair of Mission 70s could be had for around $100 in the 1980s. I fondly remember thinking that having a pair of those Mission speakers ..read more
