Please join us in celebrating!
Walter P. Vogelsburg has been at the Atlanta Humane Society since 2022, and is still looking for a place to call home. A big goofball with a heart of pure gold, he’s a staff favorite and could use a little extra TLC from the community to help get him adopted.
After living in the shelter off and on for the past two years, Vogelsburg deserves something special. He deserves a day that is dedicated solely to him.
Which is why we have declared May 1 as Walter P. Vogelsburg Day!
Vogelsburg will be taking over our social channels all day long, so make sure you ..read more

Scruffy was found as a stray, and our friends at LifeLine Animal Project reached out to us, knowing we could provide him with the specialized care he needed. We don’t know what happened to him, but we know that donors like you can comfort him.

Shelters in our state are overcrowded and overwhelmed, and we work with our animal welfare partners in a variety of ways to help relieve the immediate need. We provide them with our veterinarians for surgeries, ensure they have plenty of food for their animals, and transport their most in-need dogs and cats into our care.
But we know we need to be combatting the root cause of the issue to stop the overcrowding from continuing to happen.
The calls from pet parents needing to surrender their pets are increasing, and one of their needs is access to veterinary care. That’s why we op ..read more
