Largely inspired by New York City’s Highline, Sohel Mahmud has made his murals and other art installations around the Manayunk Bridge Garden a game of hide-n-seek for community members and tourists alike.
Just by walking down the bridge (which you can access at Dupont and High Streets in Manayunk), it’s hard to miss the artwork painted on walls, walkways, and fences.
A painting of a woman blowing a kiss, welcoming all into the community bridge.A painting of a man skiing down a slope, inviting the winter 2030 Olympics to ..read more

Streets Dept has been thrilled to partner with PHILADELPHIA250 and local street artist Symone Salib to install an exciting wheatpaste poster campaign with artworks created by four local artists, Yannick Lowery, Keisha Whatley, Elaine Knox, and Jaz Morse! The wheatpastes, which we installed around the city in August, invite Philadelphians to engage in the important anniversary that our city–and the country–will be celebrating in 2026.
“The 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence is the city’s next big moment, thanks to Philly‘s historic role in the founding of this country ..read more

Our stories need to be plastered on the walls of our communities. We are ..read more

“[This mural was] inspired by many outings to parks and gardens around Philadelphia,” the project’s website reads. “Kien’s observations of shadows on leaves as the sun shines through them became the main visual element of this mural. By choosing to use leaf silhouettes of native trees along with those ..read more
