CHICAGO (CBS)–  A convenience store robbery in the west suburbs leads police on a pursuit to Chicago. Police in Elmhurst responded to a 7-Eleven where three armed men stole $300 and cigarettes. Illinois State Troopers spotted the suspects’ car and followed them to 4740 West Jackson Blvd. in the West Garfield Park, where the offenders jumped out of the car and ran. CHICAGO (CBS) — Tough news has come down for Cubs reliever Codi Heuer, who posted a picture on his Instagram account of himself in a hospital bed with his arm wrapped in a sling. It followed what was believed to be Tommy John surgery. Because of the ongoing MBL lockout, neither the injury nor the surgery happened under Cubs supervision – and Heuer is not allowed to have any contact with the team. ALSIP, Ill. (CBS) — Surveillance video shows crooks in action ransacking a southwest suburban business. As CBS 2’s Jermont Terry reported, it took just minutes for one of the crooks to steal a bolted ATM from a convenience store in Alsip overnight. JOPLIN, Mo. (AP) — One Joplin police officer and a suspect have died after a shooting Tuesday in the southwest Missouri city, police said. Two other Joplin officers remain hospitalized, one in critical condition and the other in serious but stable condition, Assistant Police Chief Brian Lewis said in a news release.
