Its been a while since I posted here, but I haven't had the time... We got our tax return, so I figured I had better make time to post because the last post was about finishing the taxes! I have an abscessed tooth that has given me grief for almost a month! The dentist has referred me to a specialist, and I am waiting for my appointment next week. On the up-side, I lost 4 pounds not being able to chew without pain. Ha ha. I've been quilting right along and doing repair in the evening (slow progress there), so there are some quilts to show you. Wow. I took this quilt top apart, removin ..read more

I finished doing our taxes after two days of trying to figure out our money manager's packet of forms. Thank heavens the IRS accepted my return. Last year they bounced it back for revision. I'm happy we'll get back enough to cover the cost of the Turbo Tax and a meal out! Back in the studio, I finished some customer quilts and a couple of QOVs, as well as getting my quilt for Arizona finished. I've had a good week! Physically I feel great, too! My customer's aunt made this quilt top years ago and she wanted it quilted to pass along to the next generation. I love the cute doggies, and th ..read more

Thank you to everyone who hopped over to Wazoo to enter the contest. I hope you win something!  I spent Funday-Sunday cleaning up the mess I generated with my sewing frenzy, and made some simple blocks for a gift quilt. I'll work on that quilt when I can, but need to get back to the customer stuff.  I'm using a small palette of purple, orange and teal batiks. The quilt needs least 30 blocks, so I have a way to go to finish it. After a homemade pizza supper, I finished sewing the binding on my Twinkle quilt and snapped a couple photos. I really like it and will probably make another ..read more

Hello happy readers! I have been nose to the grindstone with preparations for the blog hop. Today is my day! I decided to make all the quilts, but had a time crunch with Covid and my trip to Arizona. I'm doing the hand sewing on the last one tonight, but need to get my post up and ready for midnight tonight. You all know I'll finish it, so stay tuned. LEAVE YOUR EMAIL IN YOUR COMMENT! Here is a re-cap of the patterns we were given to try. We could pick just one, but I love these little cards and wanted to try all of them. Which one did I start with? Why, Happy St. Patrick's Day, of cou ..read more

My Covid has gone and I am ready for the trip to Arizona! I'm still tired, but I'm sure a long plane ride will let me relax a bit. I may not be able to sit with my daughter, who is on the same flight, but I'll live. I have plennty of puzzles to do and my phone has some no-wifi needed games loaded. This computer is dying more each day, so it will not be taking the trip. It has taken over some functionns, such as the font. Hopefully you can read this. I got the letter from Villa Rosa, and the prizes are great! Individual prizes are; three items from the hop sponsors, and one prize is a set of pat ..read more

I'm feeling somewhat better since I began the skirmish with Covid. Mr Wazoo and I are both on Paxlovid, it  makes my mouth taste like skunk. It is nasty! My fever is gone and I am not congested, but I am really tired. The weary kind of tired. This too shall pass.  Nobody wants to see this. It ruined my day. Mr W also has been stricken and is coughing up a storm. No coughing for me, I am stuffed up and really fatigued. I'm hoping to be well enough to travel on Thursday. My oldest daughter is retiring from the Army and having her 50th birthday! I hope to be in Arizona (wi ..read more

Working right along, I'm getting quilts done and still having time for some 'Me' sewing. I wasn't going to take so many quilts this year, but who do I say no to? There's a queue, and it is my own fault. Let's take a look at what I have been up to. I made this quick and easy quilt from a layer cake I got at a sale. I thought it was bright and cheerful. The pattern is from one of the Villa Rosa postcards. The panto is Alfresco. I bought yardage of this fabric at a big sale in Hayesville, NC. They have a wonderful sale room in the shop, as well as good sales throughout the year in the ..read more

It's been a good week, and I got a lot done. I made a couple of quilts for charity, quilted a couple of QOVs for a customer in Florida, and did some customer quilts here, too. Let's get started! This was the first quilt made by the customer's granddaughter. I think she did a wonderful job, and should be happy with it. Flower Power pantograph The hedgehogs are adorable! This quilt is for a toddler boy.  The panto is Dino-tracks Great backing, too! This was a hurry-up quilt for the customer's son's birthday. She said he has been asking for a flag quilt for his bed.
