How exciting is it that my patterns have been selling well in Canada lately through Purple Katz quilting in Edmonton! Brett in the pic below bought and made my Emperors Wheel pattern quite a while ago then offered to pattern test my Road Trip quilt. How could I refuse! I must say he did a fab job and picked up a few bloopers! Here he is with his Tula version. And here he is with Tula herself after she signed the quilt label for him! These are a few of the Emperors Wheel quilts from a class he taught at Purple Katz Quilting for Tracy. Great work! And such Tula fans! Check out this quiltin ..read more

Some recent class action...  Susan's fabulous East of New York based on my NYB pattern. Indigos and terracotta - perfect! And it's her first time entry in Sydney Quilt Show in June. Moyra has been on this Sue Cody Tree of Life for quite a while but it was certainly worth it. She's now an applique expert! And Patrya has taken her Lots of Dots to another level with that scalloped border. Why didn't I think of that!  I had two workshops with Eastwood Quilters recently. Day one was a Basic mariners compass and most girls finished with great results. Can't wait to see what they turn ..read more

Lots has happened since I came home from Houston in November... At our last QuiltNSW meeting for 2017 our raffle quilt for the 2018 show was revealed. A gorgeous reproduction of the antique Australian Frederica Josephson quilt made by the Quilt Study Group. A cornucopia of fabrics with different pieced hexagons. You must come to the show in June and see it in  the flesh! And suddenly it was Xmas! Such a funny family day. Little Harper got a karaoke set and we gave it a workout. Hilarious! The trifle was pretty good too! Lots of pool and beach days - it's been such a stinker of a summ ..read more

I had the privilege to lead a tour of 35 quilters to the US, ending up at the International Quilt Festival in Houston. And boy what a trip it was! On the long haul to get there we spent a while in Denver airport - these signs are on every bathroom. Then to Missouri where we had two days at Missouri Star Quilt Company in Hamilton. The town is pretty much quilt shops all owned and run by the Doan family. Lots of shopping and mailing home from the girls! A chance visit to the Pony Express Museum - really interesting place if you're ever in St Joseph. Chillicothe for murals and antique stor ..read more

Pics from a few recent classes to start... Sue's getting there with her String Stars top. The grey border sets the centre off perfectly. And Christine has started binding her Dots blocks. All the same stripe will look fab. I had a QuiltNSW workshop at Hazelhurst Gallery where ten eager students stated on the Strippy Sampler. Great results over two Sundays and what a nice venue. Springwood Quilt Show committee had a lovely lunch at Bygone Beautys in Leura recently to hand over a cheque for $10K to our local RFS. Proceeds from our quilt show in April. A great effort by all involved i ..read more

July was a busy month for me on all fronts... My annual visit to Snake Gully in Muswellbrook produced lots of great work like Judy's Pickled Lillies above and a compilation of workshops on Mariners Madness and Strippy Sampler below. At Sew Can I this month Robyn finished her String Stars top - Cat Woman I say! Trish at Hobbysew Kings Park brought in her Square Dance top - a couple of the corner blocks looking fab. And Wendy has taken her time with African Queen but it looks amazing. The border fabric is perfect.    The centre for Sue's Broken Arrow is so soft and calming. C ..read more
