Oh hey! I worked with the art director Ryan Hubbard in August on an illustration for Medium. The piece accompanied an article about both extreme fitness as a method of processing the midlife crisis and the authors experience with utilizing athleticism to manage and harmonize with depression. I thought I would share a bit about my process in making this one. I started out by creating a bunch of thumbnail sketches in Procreate on my iPad Pro. I’ve been enjoying these recent couture collections, especially the Givenchy collection under the new artistic director, Clare Waight Keller. The collection dives deep into Givenchy’s archives, resurfaces with some gorgeous looks and silhouettes, and modernizes them. I also loved that the atelier team who created the collection came out with the director at the shows close. Couture is time and labor-intensive and involves many dedicated artisans.
