Alternative streaming platforms for fresh content.
I’m just going to say it, I’ve run out of things to watch on Netflix. It’s become, gasp, boring. Sometimes all you need is variety, so here are my favourite alternative streaming platforms to help you discover fresh content.
Vimeo: Best Free Alternative
Vimeo isn’t just for content creators. It’s also a cool space to check out shorter, more niche videos on a variety of topics. ‘Vimeo Staff Picks’ also provides you with fresh, quality, hand-picked videos th ..read more

*TW: Mention of Sexual Assault*
April is Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, and to commemorate the month, Hofstra University’s Title IX and Student Wellness Education offices have collaborated with various departments and student organizations to create a multitude of programs. Such programs include Heart to Hart, consisting of open office hours with Associate Vice President of Public Safety Geri Hart and hosting Denim Day events, which came about as a demonstration against an infamous court ruling ..read more

I used to never believe people when they would tell me that my college years will pass me by quickly and to enjoy it while I can, but with my first year of college coming to an abrupt close, I have begun to understand that they really were telling me the truth.
It feels like just yesterday that my mom and my aunt were helping me haul all of my belongings into my new dorm room, but somehow that was almost eight months ago. It is so crazy how time flies and you don’t even realize it. Being at Texas State ..read more

Whatever your summer plans are, here is a gold-standard crash course on cooking for yourself!
When I lived in the dorm freshman year, I didn’t buy a meal plan because of dietary restrictions- so here’s how I cooked gourmet, nutritious, and delicious meals on a budget in my half of a dorm room, plus a tiny little communal kitchen! These hacks have stayed by my side all the way through living in an apartment and having my own kitchen.

It girls are the girls who have perfect lives and we like or follow them willing to be inspired by their lifestyle and try to have a similar one. It is important to highlight that it girls are niched influencers – there will be It Girls for literally every single interest. And they were not born as it girls in the first place, people who have the same interests as them made them what they are today. We’ve seen tons of these girls around the internet – me per se, have my interests know that these are ..read more

While many think of summer as a break from school or time to spend on vacation, summer also means plenty of amazing movie releases, and this year is no exception. The film industry has finally been able to bounce back from so many setbacks due to the pandemic and even more after the WGA (Writer’s Guild of America) and SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) strikes pushed back production and delayed so many film releases, resulting in the wonderful array of films that ..read more

To start from the beginning: language was my first love and my above-average elementary school reading level felt like proof that it loved me back. Some nights I’d reverse-storytime my parents, eager to read to them from whatever book I happened to be tearing through at the time. One fateful night stands out in my memory: I was living on the edge of a serious obsession with Lemony Snicket’s The Series of Unfortunate Events, embarking on the first installment with formative glee. As I read aloud to my dad, c ..read more

I took my graduation photos a week ago. I completed my final bar crawl. My mom keeps calling to finalize plans for graduation weekend, and I just started my last week of classes.
Graduation came a lot faster than I thought. I don’t know why I assumed this semester would go by slower than the last few years.
Every year, the semesters go by in the blink of an eye.
Time is so funny. One day, you’re 8 years old, and waiting all day to play with your favorite toy feels like a lifetime. The next day, you’re about ..read more

My life has been filled with seeing my favorite artists in concert (Harry Styles, Taylor Swift and Noah Kahan just to name a few) watching movies just to see my favorite actors and over-obsessing over my favorite celebrities.
Why?
Fangirling.
Don’t go screaming bloody murder now. Fangirl isn’t a bad word and I’m going to tell you why fangirls are the backbone of our nation.
But, before we get into that, a quick shoutout to my best friend Belle <3 who inspired this article. Her senior thesis is ..read more

When applying to colleges, I knew that I didn’t want to go somewhere with a big involvement in Greek life. I’m sure it’s a good experience for some, like a fellow SBU Her Campus member Sofi (here’s her article on sorority life- Confessions of an Ex-Sorority Girl), but it never seemed like the thing for me.
I think the part about being in a sorority that scared me the most was the seemingly strict rules that I’d have to follow.
Anyhow, St. Bonaventure doesn’t have any sororities, but that’s not to say there’s a lac ..read more
