Ahmed Rosario, SS/2B/OF, TB Rosario extended his hitting streak to ten games on Thursday afternoon. He went 2 for 4 with a triple and an RBI. The 28-year-old also has five multi-hit games over the past six contests and is now hitting a robust .339 for the season. Rosario has always been a decent contact hitter but has taken it to another level so far in 2024. He has been seeing the ball extremely well as he is attacking the ball in the strike zone like never before. Rosario's career Z-Swing% is 68.9% but it's at 83.2% so far this season, which ranks third in the majors. He isn't just swinging ..read more

Interesting Prospect Call-Ups - April 17, 2024

Andy Pages The Dodgers promoted their number three prospect on Tuesday. Pages has a very strong offensive resume. The 23 year old is slashing .371/.452/.694 in 15 AAA games, and while the ballpark environment he was playing in is super hitter friendly, it's an impressive statline nonetheless. His 18/11 K/BB% is really solid, but we obviously expect those numbers to take hits on both sides of the ratio, but the 18% K rate is his best figure since 2018. However, I think there's a sneaky good chance he is able to carve out a consistent role. The Dodgers are in need of an outfielder, desperately ..read more

Edward Cabrera (SP - MIA) - Well, the Marlins threw everybody for a loop on Monday. AJ Puk reportedly came down with an illness, so Miami decided to demote Max Meyer, fresh off an excellent outing against the Braves, and bring up Edward Cabrera to make his season debut even though he was slated for one more rehab start on Wednesday. Meyer is apparently going to stay in the minors and pitch 3 innings once a week [eye roll emoji], while Cabrera looked like the best version of himself during a 6 IP, 1 ER, 1 BB, 10 K outing against the Giants. Pretty much anytime Cabrera only walks 1 guy it's a su ..read more

Luis Castillo-Mariners-SP Luis Castillo went 6 IP and gave up 2 ER on 7 H, 0 BB, and 9 K's against the Cubs. Castillo has a 5.82 ERA and 1.66 WHIP through four starts. His surface stats paint an ugly picture for someone supposed to be one of the game's best pitchers. However, his underlying skills look fine. He is missing bats (24% K) and showing good control (5% BB). His 3.53 SIERA is right in line with what he has done throughout his career. Castillo has been burnt by bad luck (.446 BABIP) in his short sample. He is also a notoriously slow starter so there isn't much to be worried about desp ..read more

Schwarber the Singles Hitter - April 14th, 2024

Kyle Schwarber, OF/DH, PHI Schwarber went 3 for 3 with a solo homer and a pair of walks, extending his modest hitting streak to four games. With 12 singles and three home runs, the 31-year-old hasn't been his normal boom-or-bust self so far this season. Schwarber's .259 average is well above his career .226 mark while his .155 ISO is well below his career .262 mark. He has simply not been getting the ball in the air which has sapped his power and created more singles. His current 35.1% FB% (44.0% career) is the lowest of his career. The good news is that Schwarbs is still taking his walks (13 ..read more

Salvador Perez- C- KC- Hot- Perez went 1-for-4 with his 3rd homer of the season last night. He is slashing .327/.362/.509 with 11 RBI and 7 runs scored for the season. Perez has a 90.1 EV, the same as last season and a 41.5% HardHit%, slightly below his 43.6% in 2023. His chase% is a big 53.8%, higher than his 49.5% last season, while he has lowered his SwStr% from 17.0% to 13.6%. Perez has dropped his K% from 23.3% to 19.0%. His Contact% of 77.9% and O-Contact% of 67.2% has limited his strikeouts. It has also helped translate his .366 BABIP into hits. That likely won't continue, but Perez is ..read more

Ranger Suarez Suarez tossed 6 shutout innings allowing only two hits and two walks while punching out 8 in Thursday's afternoon game. He was fairly dominant, allowing only three hard hit balls while posting a solid 32% CSW. He's now allowed only three free passes and 9 hits in 17 innings on the year, but most notably has gone at least 5 innings in all three starts. He has been a groundball animal thus far (67.9%, 96th Percentile), while also getting guys to expand out of the zone (31.3% Chase, 72nd Percentile). My only concern with Suarez thus far is the stuff. He doesn't throw very hard (91 m ..read more

Holliday Arrives - April 11, 2024

Jackson Holliday (SS-BAL) made his big-league debut against the Red Sox on Wednesday, going 0-4 with an RBI as he manned 2B and batted 9th. Widely regarded as the top prospect in the minors - especially with peers such as Jackson Chourio and Wyatt Langford starting the season in the majors - Holliday is a must add wherever he is available in fantasy. He's still very much a raw talent at age 20, but the 1st overall pick in the 2022 amateur draft possesses a plus-potential hit tool and plus-potential in-game power. He got off to an encouraging start in Triple-A this season, with a .333 average ..read more

Tyler Glasnow, SP (LAD) Glasnow was absolutely dominant on Tuesday, shutting the Twins down for seven innings, allowing only three hits and no walks while striking out 14. He is now 3-0 on the season with a 2.25 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 24 innings. Glasnow's spin rate was up as he generated 21 swings and misses. Essentially half of opposing swings failed to make contact. That's ridiculous. Meanwhile he also got 21 called strikes, amounting to a 48% CSW-rate. He was completely on his game: not walking anyone was a great development after he walked a combined seven hitters in his first three sta ..read more

April 9th - Blake is Back!

Blake Snell (SP - SF) - Snell made his long-awaited SF debut against the offensively offensive Nationals on Monday, and while it looked poor on the surface (3 IP, 3 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 5 K), it was pretty standard for Snell. He didn't allow a ball hit over 90.1 mph (the 3 singles were 82, 79, and 77), he got 10 swinging strikes on just 72 pitches, and his fastball velo was on par with last season. He struggled with command, but like I said: par for the course. It'll probably take him a few outings to get up a "normal" pitch count, but there's no reason for concern here that I can see.....get him ac ..read more
