BAPE’s product line will undergo big changes in the near future. The Japanese brand settled a trademark infringement lawsuit filed by Nike earlier this month, partly thanks to a provision that demands modifications to some of BAPE’s shoes and the elimination of others. The model of focus here, the BAPE SK8 STA, lives on, but will soon be tweaked to comply with trademarks pertaining to the Nike Dunk. Nike and BAPE probably agreed on deadline for such changes to take shape, but for now, the old silhouette shouts its last hurrahs in new colorways. Two SK8 STA’s are set to drop on May 4th, joined ..read more

Nike Is Dropping An “Infrared” Air Max 90 Look-alike
Sneaker News
by Andrew Rizzo

Not too far off on the color wheel, Nike’s latest women’s Air Max 90 “Aster Pink” might get confused for the model’s original “Infrared” colorway from a distance. While it’s obviously not comparable when it comes to aura, the shoe’s titular hue and ancillary treatments give off that familiar feel, just in time for Summer 2024. The Air Max 90 itself wears a cast of different materials, but mainline pairs released after Nike re-crafted the silhouette at the end of 2019 generally wear a balanced mesh/suede/leather mix, especially when it comes to simple colorways. This pair doesn’t stray too far ..read more

Sneaker News

The Air Jordan 9 has quietly emerged as one of the key models for Jordan Brand’s golf push. While the Air Jordan 1 still has it beat by sheer quantity, notable fresh editions emerging in the past few months seem to signal that Mike’s ninth signature is coming for its title. Its case gets a whole lot stronger when Beaverton creatives mint brand new colorways just for the green- something that the Air Jordan 9 Golf “Barons” accomplishes in style. With MJ donning plenty of Air Jordan 9 PEs in the outfield following his first retirement, the model will always be linked to baseball. At first glance ..read more

The ASICS GT-2160 Switches Up In “Seal Grey”
Sneaker News
by Matt Varga

With collaborations on the silhouette from Kiko Kostadinov, Wood Wood and Above the Clouds in just the past 6 months, the ASICS GT-2160 is one of the hottest models in the Japanese giant’s catalog. Half a dozen metallic colorways dropped in April, but the latest edition breaks the mold in a matte finished nocturnal arrangment. Midnight black mesh sets the foundation, met up top by “Seal” leather overlays, halfway between sea green and pure gray. While this edition may not be as in-your-face with the Y2K aspects, they’re still here in some fashion, stripes of chrome breaking through in the mids ..read more

Though she’s truly one of the modern faces of skateboarding, the impending Paris Olympics and Nike’s Alexis Sablone Dunk Low means that the multi-hyphenate’s name is hotter than ever. While the August release of that Dunk collection is still a bit away, those looking to get their hands on some Alexis Sablone shoes don’t have to wait- her signature Converse AS-1 Pro just arrived in a new “Olive” colorway. Seeing as the model aligns well with the simple construction of skate shoes under the Nike umbrella, the colorway here also carries that theme. It relies on a two-tone configuration that’s mar ..read more

Sneaker News

As a company that famously prides itself on innovation, Nike is used to making headlines with products that run counter to public expectations. The sub-brand that’s arguably done so the most in recent memory is Nike ISPA (Improvise, Scavenge, Protect, Adapt), likely familiar to sneakerheads through the Nike ISPA Link and Nike ISPA Link Axis. Wading into the apparel waters, the imprint just unveiled the “Metamorph Poncho,” a dual-purpose piece meant to radically change your next camping trip. The claim in the headline is the main selling point here. As you can see in the images below, the “defa ..read more

“Burgundy Crush” Settles On A Suede Nike SB Blazer Mid
Sneaker News
by Andrew Rizzo

Consistent as ever, the Nike SB Blazer Mid wears “Burgundy Crush” on an upcoming suede-heavy pair. Skate shoes keep getting more and more innovative and Nike SB has been leading the charge with several new tech-packed models, but skate-ready versions of the timeless Blazer silhouette still stand out as top movers for the SB banner. This latest delivery would probably be more suited for a Fall or Winter release given its dark colors and mid-top height, but the Blazer Mid doesn’t necessarily abide by seasonal sensibilities; it’s a year-round staple. Taken here in another essential look, the shoe ..read more
