Paul Rodriguez’s emergence in skateboarding coincided with the rise in popularity — and acceptance — of Nike’s once-embattled Skateboarding division. As the first signature athlete under the Nike umbrella, P-Rod was burdened with carrying the Swoosh on his back in a sport that once scoffed at big corporate entries. The attitude toward Nike changed, and Paul’s signature shoe line lasted ten difference signature shoe models through 2017, with each installment arriving in a variety in skateshop-only colorways and collaborative achievements.
In 2015, Nike recognized the importance of P-Rod to the ..read more

London sneaker boutique Footpatrol is finally set to release its adidas Gazelle from last year’s “Consortium Cup” design tournament.
The shoes are inspired by down jackets, complete with a nylon base filled with Primaloft material for an insulated wear. Light blue lands gently on the upper, complemented by white leather on the stripes, tongue, and laces. The shoe’s suede toe cap and eyestay strips take a more gray-ish color, as does subtle foxing that wraps around above the midsole, a notable addition that’s not standard on mainline pairs. Gas mask Footpatrol logos appear on the tongue and hee ..read more

The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 is inescapable at this point, widely adopted for its tech runner stylings and comfort-minded daily driver appeal. Though men’s and women’s colorways made the shoe an easily accessible for those demographics, the kids have been left out entirely (save for the Doernbecher 2023 collection.). Nike is set to change that this season, as we’ve received official images of the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 in three GS colorways.
While the silhouette obviously has to be shrunk down to befit this new demographic, there aren’t many hardware changes beyond that in the GS version. The primary on ..read more

Though there are certain models like the Nike Air Max 1 or Air Max 95 that never leave shelves, the Air Max catalog filled with beloved models that don’t receive the same evergreen treatment. The Nike Air 180 is a model that’s built up a true cult following, an apt descriptor with the impending “Cult Classics” drop of the Nike Air 180 “Ultramarine.”
With the annual celebration of Air Max Day, there’s been plenty of opportunities to revisit the beginnings of the Air Max line. However, the Air Max 1 “Royal” release from this year tipped off a Nike initiative to spotlight product in its “OG ..read more

The slate of Kobe releases for next year is already heating up months ahead of time. The Nike Kobe 6 Protro “All-Star 2.0” is set to release next Spring, carrying an earthy blend of that could be referencing the one and only time the man who NBA named the All-Star Game after sat on the bench.
The Mamba missed the 2014 All-Star Game, rocking a tan & white suit while sidelined from the exhibition, still recovering from the devastating Achilles injury that cut his 2012-13 season short. That earthy outfit would be a perfect match for the “Light Khaki,” “Desert” and “Sail” tones confirmed here ..read more

We’ve heard rumors for years, and now details surrounding the Air Jordan 1 “Black Toe Reimagined” are finally starting to come into focus. New images posted by @knowing_kicks offer the best look to date, highlighting thoughtful treatments drawn from the earliest days of Mike’s signature line.
The shoe stands as the fourth “Reimagined” original Jordan 1 colorway, joining “Bred,” “Chicago,” and “Royal” versions released annually and in that order since 2021. Notably, all four pairs achieve a “Reimagined” look through different angles; the “Bred” colorway features patent leather, the “Chicago” em ..read more

Kith x adidas has become one of the more reliable relationships in both brand’s arsenals, the German and NYC imprints joining forces each successive season for tonal takes on Three Stripes staples. Just a few months after their Spring 2024 offerings, the two are reuniting for their largest and most vibrant collection yet, Kith x adidas Originals Classics Summer 2024.
Their shared backlog is rife with tone-on-white colorways, meaning that the pastel applications on feature here is a pretty stark divergence. A few pairs, like the lavender adidas Samba, goldenrod AS30 and grey Indoor Super only d ..read more

While we wait on a release date for the Verdy x Nike SB Dunk “Visty” later this year, the man himself takes to Instagram to share a new friends and family version.
Much like the public drop, the shoes wear plush hairy fabrics taken after the streetwear icon’s stuffed animals. A stitched graphic of Verdy’s “Visty” character appears on the heel, and black and white color blocking reflects the look of the Panda Dunk, a shoe that’s become a mainstream cultural touchpoint in recent years.
The shoes won’t release, but serve to create even more buzz around Verdy’s next Nike SB drop. The Verdy x Nike ..read more
