All Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars racing in this year’s Porsche Supercup series will operate on eFuels for the first time.
The German manufacturer says the fuel is ‘potentially near-carbon-neutral’ and is blended from a feedstock that comes from Porsche’s Haru Oni pilot plant in Chile. It follows on from three years of the Porsche Supercup using a second-generation, bio-based partially synthetic fuel mixture developed with Esso. Switching to eFuels is designed to be the next step in reducing carbon emissions in the company’s flagship single-make series. Porsche has so far invested over US$100 milli ..read more

This weekend’s British Touring Car Championship season-opener at Donington Park heralds the first race for a more potent hybrid boost system that delivers twice the power compared to last year.
BTCC series organiser TOCA introduced the spec 48V hybrid-electric system in 2022. The Cosworth spec unit replaced success ballast, which saw the most successful drivers get handed additional weight to slow them down in races and balance out the field. A similar sliding scale approach has been used after the switch to hybrids, whereby more successful drivers are given fewer laps on which they can deploy ..read more

Bechtolsheimer’s goal is to bring Lola back to prominence in the motorsport industry after it ceased operations in 2012 amid financial strife. The new IndyCar season is starting in St. Petersburg this weekend, but fans will need to wait until later in the year for the much-anticipated hybrid system to arrive. The American series’ biggest technological development for several years has taken longer than expected to hit the grid, but when it does it will make IndyCar the first oval series to run with an electrified powertrain.
It has been an intense and thorough route to fruition, but IndyCar is now confident that, following validation tests at the end of January with production-spec parts and software, it can deliver a safe, robust an ..read more
