I told myself that I would knit more cardigans this year. My wardrobe needs them and I need to get over having to purl. I also decided I needed to also think about my yarn choices and what would work best for my climate and how warm my classrooms tend to get in the winter. I decided to try the Lamb & Kid’s cottage worsted yarn, it’s 50% wool, 20% linen, 15% cotton and 15% silk. It has a slightly tweedy texture and it’s warm but not overwhelmingly hot. I realized that I don’t have a good place to take finished object pictures in my house, hence the lack of me taking finished photos. I’m going to try to remedy that. In the meantime, here are a few pics I snapped before heading off to work today (the semester is almost over!). I’m a sucker for a shawl collar sweater but sometimes I find them to be a little small and I wanted a big and cozy collar. I’ve been slowly knitting on and off for the first three months of this year. My elbow was bothering me and I knew it was because of knitting, so the only proper thing I could do is rest. So instead of voraciously knitting, I’ve been reading again. My friend Kiki got me to read Rebecca Yarros’ Fourth Wing and Iron Flame books and then immediately turned me on to Sarah J. Maas and her fantasy world.
