Spiders On Mars Surface? This article has some interesting photos of the Martian surface, which, on first glance, seem to be thousands of black multi-legged creatures resembling spiders. Sounds like a bad Fifties SciFi novel; but the photo is real. NASA believes the photo shows thousands of black spots caused by thawing, frozen carbon dioxide. Does this mean there was once life on Mars, destroyed by an asteroid collision?

Generative AI Tools and Tips. Jim Calloway and Julie Bays, of the Oklahoma Bar, have penned a great article on the use of AI in law practice. They discuss document and deposition summaries, web based browser tools, drafting tools, video editing tools, Open AI's Chat GPT, and Microsoft's Co-Pilot, which integrates Chat GPT into the Windows environment, and much more. Want to find out how lawyers are, and can, use generative AI? Read the article.

My good friend on X (@Roaring20sNews), posts news articles from 100 years ago, which are instructive and fun, both for showing how little human beings change, and how much tech changes, posted this photo in response to my RV Lawyer post about the RV I wish I could afford. Americans have craved the freedom of mobility forever, and this craving accelerated when we invented automobiles and other wheeled vehicles. A politician can never go wrong spending tax dollars on roads and bridges, and our appetite for new tech will never be sated. So, if you are a back to nature type of lawyer, I give you ..read more

Now that remote lawyering is really possible, given the advances in technology, and video conferencing, and generative AI, I am considering a new RV. My old RV is long in the tooth, and is almost 25 years old. Sure, it is paid for, which is important; but a lawyer wants what a lawyer wants. What do you think of this one? I don't know if it would fit anywhere in my world; but it looks pretty cool.

He looked closely at the photograph,
Image of his youth,
Filled with promise,
Overflowing with optimism.
Its single dimension
reminded him of another self.
The man in the photograph was
free to hope
free to wonder
free to grasp
looking for the future.
He remembered the photographer.
Prodding
Annoying
Motioning
Jostling with the hangers on
and the wannabes
asking him to share his soul
whether or not he wanted it.
He took a photograph in his mind,
Moved to a new decade.
He wondered whether the wisdom of age
would bring the photograph to life.
Did it look at him
and laugh?

Age is just a number. You are only as old as you feel. Youth is wasted on the young. Old age is better than the alternative. I could go on, but you get the picture. We spend a lot of time trying to make old age more palatable; yet, we who make it to old age should be grateful. In fact, everyone on the planet is old. If you die today, you were as old yesterday as you were ever going to get. Death stalks us all. We try to recognize its inevitability every day if we are wise, and use that as an impetus to live each day to the limits of our abilities. But, we tend to waste time on irrelevancies a ..read more

I posted two years ago from my desk in the RV while we were in Orlando for the weekend. My post then:
"Computer, check. 28 inch monitor, check. Mechanical keyboard, check. Bluetooth mouse, check. Smart Watch charging, check. Bose Bluetooth Frames charging, check. Inseego 5G WiFi, check. Spouse notebook charging, check. RV law before we go clubbing at Disney Springs, priceless."
While my RV Lawyer book will be pretty basic for some, I hope there are some ideas in it that lawyers can use to make their lives better. Any time you can get away from the grind of an office practice is time well spen ..read more

I am doing a Zoom seminar today for the lawyers, clerks, paralegals, and others working at the Florida Agency For Health Care Administration. Being able to practice law wherever I am has been a lifelong pursuit, and I have long attempted to avoid being chained to a desk in an office or home. My law practice involves what is in my head anyway, so finding tech and strategies to utilize my knowledge wherever I happen to be is my Holy Grail. How I do it today is the subject of my new book, RV Lawyer, which can be found on Amazon and other places.
