It was a fantastic affair last week as the owners hosted media along with many of their customers including chefs for a night of delicious imbibing. For those that wanted to drink to celebrate they featured a selection of cocktails, wine and beer. I recently spent some time test driving the Acura RDX A-Spec 2024 car on a day trip to Bellingham for some eats and coffee and do some exploring. The car offers up a large cargo area to hold your personal belongings to take on a trip or the groceries and such you plan on bringing back from a trip. There is also a hidden spot underneath the cargo area for those items you may wish to hide from the public eye such as a laptop or camera. Enjoyed a wonderful dinner where we experienced a variety of different Japanese dishes and their tasty sushi rolls. We started off with their Agedashi tofu followed by the Veggie gyoza and Miso soup. Loved the Power House Salad with salmon, smoked salmon, baby shrimp, edamame, fruit and avocado; as well as the Teriyaki Korean bbq beef ribs with rice. Truly a one of a kind experience, as we indulged in a 23 course Kyushu-style sushi Omakase dinner where we were enriched by the story of each course enjoying the flavours throughout the journey. Lawrence and I watched the chefs team lead by Chef Hiroshi guide us through each of the courses. Each one was memorable, he was so proud of the ingredients he uses in each of his dishes. It was food truck day lunch at the Northwest Culinary Academy of Vancouver where their students created and cooked a selection of dishes for their ‘food truck’ which they created the name, concept and menu (4 dishes each team) and their were 8 food trucks; with a total of 32 dishes to choose from.
