This time of year we can all use some healthier appetizer recipes, so here’s a great one to get you started. You could even make it for Thanksgiving! It would also be incredible thinned slightly and tossed with cooked pasta or a yummy grain and vegetable bowl too, but back to appetizers, which is what today’s post is about.
I will be filming this recipe live tomorrow morning on AM Northwest. It’s a recipe from my cookbook, Vegan Casseroles. The recipe is an amazing, out-of-this-world grown up onion dip, which is sure to be the hit of your next party! No one will ever guess that this dip is m ..read more

I thought this would make a spectacular dessert for a get together around the fire pit, whether it’s on your next camping trip or just hanging out in your front yard. The best part is that you can pick up all the components, without having to spend hours in the kitchen (unless you want to ..read more

Are you ready for a new twist on my GF chocolate chip cookie bars? This version is cherry almond chocolate chip and they are delish! They are really easy to make and you simply press the dough into a 9 x 13-inch pan. You will want to run to the kitchen and bake these right away!

To make the bars I use my favorite gluten-free flour blend recipe here on the site. I make sure to use the half amount of xanthan gum in my flour blend, which I sugges ..read more

This is a new recipe for chocolate chip cookie bars, and they are so so, so good! I created them for our latest Everyday Dish video, and loosely based it off of a couple other chocolate chip cookie recipes of mine. They are really easy to make and you simply press the dough into a 9 x 13-inch pan. I will be sharing more flavor variations of this recipe too.

Before I get to the cookies though, I really want to share a bit about the amazing Ankarsrum mixer. It’s from Sweden and has b ..read more

What is hypochlorous acid you ask? Well, after doing a lot of research, I’ve discovered a ton about it. First off, it definitely sounds too good to be true. I feel like I’m a walking infomercial these days, reminding me of the dad in My Big Fat Greek Wedding, spraying Windex on everything he could. But this is much better than Windex, is natural and is the real deal!

These beer battered Soy Curls are so good! Sometimes you just need some delicious fried crispiness, and when you do, this recipe is just the ticket!
I love the versatility of Soy Curls and how easy they are to make. This recipe is no exception. The batter recipe itself is an adaption from my beer battered onion ring recipe in Vegan Diner. I used my gluten-free flour blend recipe in place of all-purpose flour, and for the liquid I used half gluten-free beer (any kind) and half sparkling water. If you don’t want to use beer, you could use all sparkling water.
For reconstituting the Soy Curls ..read more

Whether you’re looking for a delicious side for your burgers or falafels, or just a delicious snack to enjoy with a cold beer, this recipe is just the thing!
Zaatar is delicious and is generally a combo of oregano, thyme, sumac, salt, and sesame seeds. It can vary depending on where you are in the Middle East, but is very fragrant, with tangy notes of sumac. You can easily find it in many stores, both locally and online. If you are gluten-free, be especially careful as I’ve noticed some brands add wheat to theirs. I found this one on Amazon that is labeled gluten-free.
To make the fries, you ..read more

Are you ready for the best homemade garlic mayo recipe? I have one for you! This is an adaption of the mayo my grandmother and mom made when I was growing up, but it has an unexpected ingredient or two, which is what really sets it apart. I have been teasing this recipe for so long, and I finally have it ready to share. I filmed an Everyday Dish YouTube Video to go along with it too, which is why it’s taken me so long to do. Thankfully my amazing husband stepped in to edit the video.
So now you’re probably wondering what the secret ingredient is, and I’ll tell you. It’s mashed potato ..read more

Ready for a holiday breakfast that is as delicious as it is easy to make? Well I’ve got a recipe for you!
Aren’t pancakes the best?! My love affair with pancakes goes way back. And truly, what’s not to love about soft, fluffy, pillowy pancakes, loaded up with tangy cranberries and smothered in sweet whipped mandarin butter and maple syrup? The beauty of this recipe is the teff and oat flour combo. Ivory teff flour is amazing, and has a sweet, almost malty flavor to it. And let me tell you, these pancakes are light as a feather with a hefty dose of nutrition as well. 1/4 cup of ivory ..read more

Woot! It’s pumpkin season! Which also makes it pumpkin pie ice cream season too. Doesn’t everyone love ice cream this time of year? I’ll happily bundle up with a warm blanket and a dish of creamy ice cream any day.
Before I get to the ice cream recipe, I’m excited to share some fun and innovative cooking toys that are perfect for fall!
I should probably start with the first new find, which is the Ninja Creami. It is an amazing machine, and different from all of the other ice cream makers out there. Instead of freezing the ice cream as it churns, you mix together the ice cream ingredients in ..read more
