The all-new 2024 CLE coupe arrived recently and we need to know if it is more C or more E! Having owned both a C-Class cabriolet and an E-Class cabriolet, I had to drive it to decide. The full length video is a test drive for me and my first experience on a long drive in the car.  My first move, last week, was to park it with the outgoing C and E to visually see the differences between the three models. I posted a video of that as well. I think seeing them all together helps to place it in the line-up and confirm the size and looks. Reading the specs does not help me at all! It is an aver ..read more

It’s hard to believe the last new E-Class arrived in 2017! That seems like a lifetime ago! The E-Class is all-new for 2024 and is a big technological leap. The standard touchscreen control is wide, bright and responsive. The optional Superscreen in sure to wow your passengers. There are a million other details to explore, but first you have to like the way it looks… It is styled in a way that sets it apart from the S-Class and C-Class which I appreciate. My favorite years for the E-Class were the 4 headlamp years! You could immediately tell what which vehicle it was. While this model does not ..read more

The all-new 2023 GLC300 has been out in the rest of the world for a little bit, but has finally arrived in the US for April 2023! It is fantastic! I made a video to try to show you how different it looks, even though the measurements don’t make it seem like a huge change. As expected, the interior has the same set-up as the new C-Class but with the upright seating position of the GLC. To me, the GLC feels a lot like the GLE but a little lower to the ground. There are some very nice touches on the exterior that make it feel more modern. The more horizontal design of the headlights and tail ligh ..read more

When is the All-New 2023 Mercedes GLC arriving in the US?

Soon? I hope so! We have been waiting for the redesigned GLC300 for a long, long time now. They have been produced, shipped and are currently waiting at the Vehicle Preparation Center (the VPC) for a wholesale date. I think we are actually pretty close this time and I am hoping to see one in person before the end of April 2023. Why are they so delayed? I can guess at a few things, but we’ll never have a firm answer. We had a similar delay while waiting for the redesigned 2022 C-Class sedan so it is a familiar situation. Possibly a combination of parts shortages and disruptions caused by the p ..read more

As of August 16, 2022, there have been changes to the Federal Electric Vehicle Tax Credit that will effect the eligibility of several EQ models. Please consult a tax professional to determine your personal eligibility!  Starting on August 16, 2022: To qualify for a Federal Electric Vehicle Tax Credit the vehicle must have final assembly in North America. That disqualifies the EQS and EQB. The EQS SUV may qualify if it is released for sale before December 31st.  Starting January 1, 2023: To qualify for the Federal Electric Vehicle Tax Credit there are several stipulations. Final Ass ..read more

Mercedes-EQ Side-By-Side – The EQS and EQE

With lots of new EQ models rolling out, it is good to be able to put them together for comparison!  The key to understanding the EQ nomenclature is the third letter. EQ is the Electric prefix. The next letter tells you the size. EQS is S-Class like. The EQE is E-Class like. Then you just say sedan or SUV to be specific. The numbers tell you about the power. 350 < 450 < 500 < 580.  Here is a side by side of the EQS and the EQE.  ..read more

Comparing the Mercedes GLC and BMW X3 – GLC43 and X3M40i

Trade-ins are an excellent opportunity to learn about other makes and models. In this case a client traded a pretty new BMW X3 for a Mercedes GLC and I wanted to compare them side-by-side to see what I could find as differences. Without driving them back to back, and just a little bit of online comparing, they are pretty similar in the specs department! It really comes down to personal preference.  The customer chose to come back to Mercedes because of the cushier ride and seating position they prefer. I posted a full length tour on my YouTube channel – please subscribe – and took a few ..read more

It took forever to arrive, but the all-new 2022 C300 was worth the wait! It is a touch bigger, a bit sleeker and an absolute leap forward in technology. The exterior is a subtle update but the interior takes the “Baby S-Class” moniker very seriously!  Here is a video I made of an early batch arriving. There are three levels of trim to choose from, an AMG Line to mix in and then colors and features to specify. It usually takes about 90-120 days to custom order or you can choose from available vehicles.  Please do get in touch if you are ready for yours!  ..read more

It has been a long wait for the fully redesigned C300! The first ones have just arrived at the dealership and I wanted to grab a quick look before they go in for inspection and detail. They should be ready to test drive later this week.  Here is the video I made as they were being unloaded. At one point I referred to a new C-Class as an S-Class…that should tell you something about the looks of the car!   ..read more

Comparing E-Classes – E350, E53, E63 AMG

There are a lot of models in the Mercedes-Benz line-up and within each model, lots of engine choices. I know that can be a little overwhelming for those not familiar with the Mercedes-Benz vehicles. I happened to have a good variety of cars within the E-Class group handy today so I parked them together to compare.  E-Class is our mid-size sedan. The C-Class is smaller, the S-Class is larger. Within the E-Class group there are 4, 6 and 8 cylinder engines. Here are are the basics: E350 – 4 cylinder, 255 horsepower, common MSRP is $65,000. E450 – 6 cylinder, 362 horsepower, common MSRP is ..read more
