Droid Life

A purported prototype of the Pixel 9 Pro has found its way on the Internet, giving us an early real-life look at Google’s upcoming flagship phone. It is every bit of wonderful that we hoped it would be, assuming you like an iPhone-esque design, which we get a comparison to in the leak. The device shown here is said to be of the Pixel 9 Pro, the smaller of the two Pixel 9 Pro models we expect later this year. Google is also rumored to release a Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9. This particular device has a bootloader screen that shows a codename of “caiman,” which matches the name we’ve been followin ..read more

Droid Life
by Kellen

When we asked everyone a week ago if the April Google Pixel update was treating them well, we did so because we also wanted to check to make sure that everyone had received it. There were dozens of reports at the time suggesting that Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 owners with AT&T service were not seeing the update at all, but Google hadn’t said a word. It’s now April 17 and a new build for those devices has arrived and we hope it’s for those who have been checking for the past couple of weeks without success. The new Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro build is listed as AP1A.240 ..read more

Google Will Use AI to Help EV Owners Find Chargers
Droid Life

Unlike a Shell or Chevron station, EV charging spots can sometimes be tricky to find. They can be situated in hotel parking lots in the sub basement of a garage or even tucked behind restaurants where you definitely wouldn’t want to order the chicken strips. Point is, Google Maps wants to make finding these chargers more easily, and soon, it will utilize AI to do just that. Google announced this week that in the coming months, it will use AI to comb public reviews to help pinpoint exactly where our country’s EV charging stations are. You can see an example of this in the header above, but it s ..read more

Comcast New NOW Mobile is Unlimited Prepaid at $25
Droid Life

Comcast introduced a new line of prepaid wireless (and internet) plans today under its NOW brand, which currently includes NOW TV and NOW WiFi Pass. The basics here are that you get unlimited data, talk, and text at a low price with access to all of the Xfinity hotspots across the country. The new NOW Mobile wireless plan gives you unlimited 5G data through Verizon’s network (like their Xfinity Mobile plans) for $25/line with that Xfinity hotspot access I mentioned. And that’s it – this is an incredibly bare bones plan, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing if all you need is data, phone, and te ..read more

Visible Announces Annual Plans, Save Up to $145 for Service
Droid Life

Visible is introducing annual payment options for its Visible and Visible+ plans. With this, instead of paying a monthly price, you’ll pay a one time fee annually, saving you a good amount of money over the long run. The standard Visible plan will only save you $25 if you pay the $275 up front for a year of service, but the Visible+ annual price will save you a total of $145. That’s a lot more savings. The annual price is $395, so while it is quite the commitment up front, those savings could be worth it to some customers. Visible’s Breakdown: Visible+ annual plan is $395 per year. Here’s Where to Find Verizon and AT&T Broadband Facts
Droid Life
by Kellen
3d ago
By April 10, the FCC asked all broadband providers in the US to list broadband facts or labels on their sites that provide easy-to-digest information about their wired and wireless plans. These labels would be used like the nutrition labels on food are, in a way that lets you know the straight-forward details without having to go digging. T-Mobile made a big announcement last week to let customers know that their “broadband facts” were presented on plan pages and should be easy for everyone to find. I can confirm that their broadband labels are indeed on plan pages and are easy to spot. After ..read more
