On a snow holiday, I wear the same thing each day if I’m on the slopes. So, it’s creating an après ski capsule wardrobe that is where the fun and creativity is at.   The packing and planning before I leave home helps to create an après ski capsule of outfits that are comfortable but make me feel put together.   Watch my packing video for more info. You’ll also find my back catalogue of packing guides HERE.               View this post on Instagram                         A p ..read more

How to plan and what to pack for a winter holiday in New Zealand

I am talking in this post about how to plan and what to pack for a winter holiday in New Zealand but for many of us living in Australia, travelling to NZ at any time of year can feel cold! I know I’m a cracked record on my number one packing and planning tip but I’m saying it again. Please do become a weather nerd and track the temperatures via the weather app on your phone in the weeks and days leading up to your trip. When you do this, you get a better sense of what the temperatures and conditions are going to be like (when compared with what you’re used to) and you’re better able to pack ac ..read more

The Styling You Annual Swimsuit Edition 2023

The Styling You Annual Swimsuit Edition for 2023 is here. If you’re new to this old blog, my annual campaign is at the core of everything I do on my platforms and in my business.  My key message with this campaign has always been the same: you do not need a so-called beach or pool body to wear a swimsuit and get in the water. You just need to put on the damn swimsuit, go to the beach or jump in the pool. In 2013 when I first started this campaign, the Styling You Annual Swimsuit Edition featured just me, a size 14-16, then 46-year-old woman showcasing a range of different swimsuits. My ai ..read more

What to wear on a plane (3 looks; 10 tips)

What’s your inflight style? What to wear on a plane is all about comfort, style and your destination.   For me, I want to channel a little of the romance of travel from an era where people dressed up for flights, feel comfortable during the flight and look uncrushable at my destination.   Comfortable pants are where it’s at for all three of these looks. I’ve just changed up the pants and the accompanying pieces in each outfit to suit the destination.   LOOK 1: Long-haul flight to an autumn-winter destination. It’s all about comfortable layers and layers that can be adjus ..read more

Not only did I get to meet Trinny Woodall on her recent trip to Australia and have her prescribe a skincare routine for me, below is a video of the products Trinny’s makeup artist John Corcoran used to to create my Trinny London makeup glow-up. If you’ve landed on this post via a random Internet search, WELCOME. I’ve been a customer of Trinny London since 2018 and have written quite a few posts about the products I love and use on a regular basis. You can back track from this post. Over the years, I’ve chosen and added to cart A LOT of Trinny London makeup products based on my Match2Me survey ..read more

My Trinny London peri and menopausal friendly skincare routine

Oh it’s been a while between peri and menopausal friendly skincare updates but I’ve got a good one for you: a Trinny London skincare routine that my skin is not only loving but thriving on. And I was prescribed the routine by Trinny herself. Yes, I still can’t quite believe that bit! Before I get stuck in and share what the routine involves and what it was like to share a bathroom with this incredible powerhouse of a woman (yes, I got to not only meet Trinny but she touched my face. A LOT.), I’ll repeat what I’ve always been upfront about when it comes to my skin and the products I use. 1. On ..read more

Low-tourism Fiji … you had me at the first Bula!

Oh Fiji. You had me at the first Bula! It was a love affair I did not see coming, one of those sucker punch moments in life that takes your breath away but at the same time instantly calms you. I’m going to be honest here, Fiji was not on my destination radar. I thought it was the stuff of young families’ or loved up honeymooners’ dreams. The former because there are so many resorts geared up to give both the kids and the parents a break; the latter because there are so many resorts that exclude kids altogether.  But then the pandemic happened. So many of us booked travel thinking it woul ..read more

The Curve Edit show my body-shamed self has waited a lifetime for

Tears pricked my eyes, threatening to escape. I’d just watched Australian Fashion Week’s first ever Curve Edit show, where women in a range of everyday sizes, ages and colour walked in a show featuring size Australian labels which not only cater to women with curves, they celebrate them. It’s been asked of me, why the need for a separate show? And I answer: why not? How absolutely bloody glorious to watch woman after woman come out owning the runway in a way they’ve never had a chance to before.  Yes, we should see a diverse range of body shapes in all shows and thankfully that was eviden ..read more
