The Perl Weekly ( http://perlweekly.com/ ) is a newsletter including links to blog posts and other news items related to the Perl programming language. It is curated by Gabor Szabo who also includes short commentary with each item. The newsletter is distributed once a week on Monday. Usually between 8-10 am GMT.

Recently I decided to renew my efforts to get more sponsors via GitHub Sponsors. In order to understand how to do it better I am going to write a series of articles. This is the first one. At one point I'd also like to feature the Perl-developers who could be supported this way. So far I encountered two people: magnus woldrich and Dave Cross and myself.
