Dessert is the crème de la crème of life. It’s why we should eat it first, as to not spoil it after getting too full from a vegetable and braised duck dinner. It’s also why it’s okay to basically eat dessert in pastry form for breakfast. If it’s the first thing you eat in the morning, how could your day possibly go wrong? That’s why Paris boasts some of the world’s best patisseries and boulangeries, so everyone can start their days right with a baby cup of espresso and a warm croissan ..read more

I like old things. Aged cheeses that make your nose crinkle. Old buildings. I had a phase with older guys (but let’s be honest, still in that phase). One day, I’d like to settle down in an old French classic house with black and white photos framed on the walls, but for now a fling with a vintage leather jacket will have to do.
There’s just something special about old things. Vintage clothes = next level. Old books? Have that great smell that reminds you that k ..read more

Ditch that binge-drinking attitude we know you’ve been harboring since high school: you’re in Paris! For many reasons, one of which could be the fact that France’s drinking age is lower than the US’s, Parisians tend to spend their sweet time consuming their beverages. Where you may ask? That is where our two vastly different drinking cultures can come together.
Of course there are countless beautiful bars and restaurants to visit in Paris, and they will fulfill all of your wildest dre ..read more

If you’re spending significant time in Paris, you need to know these cheeses. Yes, they are that essential. No, I am not being overdramatic.
Brillat-Savarin
If the fact that this cheese is described as triple cream doesn’t convince you to try it, I’m not sure what will. Mostly produced in Burgundy and usually only aged for a couple weeks, this cheese is soft and creamy for sure. Made fresh, it’s like cream cheese. Aged longer, it’s firmer and smaller, yet magically more creamy! Don’t ask the fat ..read more

If you take the best aspects of life (i.e. romance and food) and put them in an animated film, you’d get Ratatouille. This 2007 Disney film has all the makings of a classic: a great story of triumph, a family coming together, and a character arc so pure it truly is *chef’s kiss.* Plus, it’s based in the best city in the world, Paris. And if that isn’t enough to convince you it is the best, it basically has a cult following on TikTok. Th ..read more

If you’re an art snob, the Louvre is heaven on earth. But from art connoisseur to delighted tourist, it’s easy to miss some of the best paintings the museum has to offer if your one goal is to stand behind a mass of people to catch a glimpse of the Mona Lisa (which by the way is so small a man once stole it simply by putting it under his coat… might I suggest you bring binoculars?).
So instead of wasting your time in a crowd similar to the fr ..read more

Lingerie has finally found its place beyond the satin sheets of the bedroom as a staple base to any chic outfit. And who is there to thank for this fashion boost but the French girls who decided a silk camisole belongs under a blazer and out in the city. While much more effort is required than rolling out of bed in last night’s sleepwear and into a jacket and stilettos, starting with simple, chic, and undeniably french lingerie brands to find your pieces makes it easy ..read more

15 Essential Parisian Cheeses
If you’re spending significant time In Paris, you need to know these cheeses.
Yes, they are that essential.
No, I am not being overdramatic.
Brie
This cheese, like a lot of French things, is named after the region that it was originally produced. Brie is usually bought in a round: that is, if you’ve ever had it before and know that you’ll demolish a pathetic triangular slice in one sitting. It’s soft and so delicious that you can also eat the rind: don’t be scared.
Let’s talk about the (minor) differences between Brie de Melun and Brie de Meaux. Th ..read more
