The OUT-FIT outdoor gym by Studio Adolini for Ethimo looks nothing like most home gyms, and that’s completely intentional. Where traditional weight racks are made with thick gauge steel – heavy both in weight and appearance for an industrial aesthetic best relegated to the garage – the OUT-FIT is designed to transform a backyard deck, terrace, garden, park, or rooftop into your own miniature boutique gym “for keeping fit surrounded by nature.”
Combining a pergola-like metal frame with a teak slat shade, the open-air pavilion dedicated to sweat-inducing activities ratchets down the intimidati ..read more

Coffee specialist Fellow is known for designing coffee gear – grinders, kettles, pour-over kits – aimed to elevate preparing a simple morning cup to something closer to your favorite barista concoction. It doesn’t hurt that Fellow’s catalog is represented by a pleasing range of Scandi-minimalist designs. Until now the brand has primarily focused on coffee drinkers apt to embrace the ritual of coffee making – from selecting well-sourced whole beans, to grinding, to the patience required for a pour-over to unlock flavors savorable in every sip.
But let’s be real here, not everyone has the know ..read more

Beyond the utility of shelter, home serves as a backdrop for life while providing a safe place to collect memories, many of which are often stored in the house’s quirks and expressed through interior design. SkB Architects embraces this notion of immersion into memory with their solution for a San Francisco Residence that seamlessly stitches global inspirations into a storied structure with a through-line of California cool.
Originally built in 1907, the architecture echoed a material ethos typical of the Bay Area from the past, which harkened to vibrant red forests through unpainted, bro ..read more

In this day and age, it seems safe to say that furniture no longer has to be categorized as just furniture. So much of what we’ve been seeing is a fine line that designers toe between art and furniture to create a new genre of benches, chairs, or even bookshelves. However, there may be no one else better qualified to blur that boundary than Zaha Hadid Architects. In fact, they may have effectively obliterated that line with Erosion, the firm’s latest collection designed for Italy-based Neutra Design.
Unveiled at this year’s Milan Design Week 2024, the collection consists of the Minera table ..read more

When mechanical keyboard specialists Keychron reached out about their newly launched model, emphasizing it was the brand’s first keyboard outfitted with Hall Effect magnetic switches, the proposition was met with some confusion. At a quick glance the Q1 HE looks nearly identical to the Keychron Q1 Pro. And that’s because it is identical on a surface level. Now that we’ve got the new Keychron Q1 HE at our fingertips, we can say the difference must be felt and heard to be fully appreciated.
Before we go any further, we should explain what the “HE” stands for: Hall Effect. A new technology, th ..read more

Ever innovating and looking to the future of our planet, FREITAG’s latest circular development is the Mono[PA6] Backpack. Known for their reuse of truck tarps, every part of this bag – from fabric to zippers to buckles – is made using only one material: polyamide 6. Known as a “mono-material,” the versatile plastic allows the bag to be easily recycled in one piece without the need for dismantling. When all available life-extending options, such as repair and reuse programs that FREITAG already has in place, have been exhausted and the Mono[PA6] has reached the end of its life, it returns via ..read more

Le Labo has recently unveiled their newest home in Kyoto within a meticulously preserved Machiya. In 2006, Le Labo’s inaugural retail store in New York City’s budding Nolita neighborhood introduced many to the previously unfamiliar concept of wabi-sabi. The intentional deconstruction – featuring chipped paint, holes in walls, and exposed pipes – came together in a then novel manner that simultaneously represented the brand as a whole while also showcasing the art of Le Labo’s perfumery. In a stroke of serendipity, Le Labo recently revealed their latest laboratory established within the walls ..read more
