I Painted My Ceiling the Same Color As My Walls!
Love & Renovations
by Amanda Hendrix

Whelp, the title really says it all. If you’ve been around for a while, you’ve probably heard me debate this project for years. Way back in 2020, I added picture molding on all of the walls in our bedroom and painted the walls a deep, cozy blue (Ink Black by Behr, to be specific!). I left both the trim and the ceilings white and, over the years, I’ve gone back and forth about whether or not to paint the ceiling the same color as the walls. I’ve seen time and again how this works so well. I did it in both Jackson’s room and in Grant’s room…but I still felt nervous. What if it felt too dark? Wha ..read more

Well, we’ve officially reached the spring to the end of the school year. I don’t know if it’s like this for everyone, but as soon as April hits, I feel like we go into hyper-speed. Between school activities and state testing and PTA stuff and just life, this time of year always flies by. I have no doubt that May will be just as fast, and then it’ll be summer break! I’m equal parts excited and nervous – I always question if I’ll be able to sloooow down work enough to truly enjoy the time with the kids. But, we’ve got time to ponder those questions. For now, let’s recap one of my favorite months ..read more

Love & Renovations

Y’all, this DIY sofa table is a project that has been on my mind for years. You know how that goes? You think to yourself, oh man, it would be nice to have this thing. I should do it. And then you just…don’t. For a long time. And then you start questioning if you really need it and it turns into a whole spiral. Is that just me? Regardless, I’ve been thinking about building a sofa table behind our couch for ages. We have a really large sectional, and we don’t have an end table by the sofa, just a coffee table. Depending on where you are sitting it can be tricky to find a spot to put a drink! In ..read more

5 Simple DIY Lessons I Wish I Knew Sooner
Love & Renovations
by Amanda Hendrix
2w ago
It sounds absolutely absurd to say this out loud, but I’ve been renovating my homes and doing DIY projects for over a decade now. I did my very first DIY project in 2010. Corey and I jumped right in with a (pretty complicated) chair reupholstery project and I was so proud of it. I made approximately one million mistakes and did much of it completely wrong. But I loved that silly little chair with my whole heart. After that, I couldn’t stop. I painted our kitchen table and chairs, learned how to stain with our coffee table, and once we bought our first house the following year I began tackling ..read more

One of the most important pieces of furniture in our home is our dining room table. For our family, it’s truly the heart of our home. We gather there for family dinners and breakfasts. It’s where my kids do homework, crafts, play games, build LEGO, and sit down to draw after school. We get lots of questions about our Crate & Barrel Basque table, and since we’ve had it for 13 years now, I figured it was high time I share an official review. Dining Room Our table has a really fun history, so it’s especially sentimental for me. If you’ll indulge me, let me give you a little timeline of this C ..read more

Lately, I’ve had a bit of an itch to add some more family photos to our house. I’ve been thinking about unique ways to display family photos, and brainstorming where I can add more to our own house.
